I really didn't believe the crazy bastards would elect him. Comments like this are what helped get him elected. People are tired of being called names just because they disagree with you. Deplorables, anyone? yep. the left has called those on the right names for ages now (Alinsky rule). well, last night the country told the left - enough is enough!
He has a better vision for our country. He believes in our constitution. He supports our country and Israel.

Not just me. The majority of the people in this country. We wanted change; just like you did with Obama. Not really. The popular vote appears to be going to Hillary. So, Trump might have the White House, but not because the majority of votes were for him.

That path is an unknown dark and dangerous one, and you're dragging the rest of us with you. Thanks. Half the country is excited for change. The rest of you are free to leave at any time so you don't get dragged with us. There was much talk on these boards about people moving to Canada if Mr Trump was elected; that's always an option. yes, a lot of celebrities did also. hopefully they're packing.

I can't believe I have to look at that orange asshole for the next four years. Wow, if I had said I can't believe that I have to look at that black asshole for the next four years in 2008, I would have been called every racist name in the book (and rightfully so) so how is this different??? The election is over and Trump is our next president, you can continue with the divisive crap or we can try to come together. You're shitting me right now, right?

I love our country. I am proud of our country. I hope those of you who want to move to Canada remember that you do, too and decide to stay. I totally agree. Trump wasn't my choice. Neither was Hillary. But we can come together, whether these newly elected officials do or not. We're what makes America great, not what comes out of Washington. And we need all of us, so please don't go.

So, Trump might have the White House, but not because the majority of votes were for him. You're right, Hillary received 47.6% of the popular vote and Trump received 47.5%. Statistically, insignificant but I was incorrect in saying "the majority".

Let's not play games here. If Trump were winning the popular vote by a hair, you'd be telling everyone ALL about the majority of Americans who voted for him. Goose, gander and all that.

This. I'm so confused. I thought it was now ok to mock. Just following the example of the new prez.

The fake tanned are not a race. Seriously think about what you just wrote. Were you there when he got a spray tan--do you know for a fact that it is not medical??? Love how you can totally miss the point You asked how calling someone orange was different to racism did you not? I answered you by stating that fake tanned is not a race. I get that you probably meant name calling is not nice how ever you dress it up but comparing one to the other here is outrageously offensive.

Because I love numbers... The third party voters could definitely have swung this election. There are 8 states declared so far where if ALL the third-party voters had instead voted for the losing candidate, the result would have been reversed (and yes, I know that's totally unrealistic - although most would have only needed a smaller proportion to switch their vote). None of the other states could have been changed. Clinton would have lost 4 states with 31 electoral votes. Trump would have lost 4 states with 65 electoral votes. Neither would yet have reached 270, and it would all come down to the last 4 undeclared states I don't think so - mostly because I think the Gary Johnson votes were primarily protest votes against Donald Trump not Hillary Clinton. I think his margin would have been greater without 3rd party - in particular Colorado and New Mexico would have went red instead of blue.

I'm sure you're right, but I wasn't making any claim about where those votes might have gone in reality if there was no third party, purely what was mathematically possible, so I stand by what I said. Colorado and New Mexico were indeed 2 of the 4 I mentioned that Clinton would have lost IF all third-party votes were transferred to the second place candidate. And in fact with the latest figures I've seen there would be 2 more switching to Trump in that totally hypothetical scenario:
Dem to Rep: CO, ME, MN, NM, NV, VA Rep to Dem: FL, PA, UT, WI

Not just me. The majority of the people in this country. We wanted change; just like you did with Obama. Actually the majority of voters didn't want him but since the GOP redrew precinct lines to favor themselves, electoral votes put him in office.

Precint lines have no impact on the presidential election (well unless it's so close that Maine and Nebraska who allocate a portion of their electoral votes by precint matter) States allocate their electoral votes based on the STATEWIDE popular votes.

I'm sure there will be lots of analyzing - pretty sure that it's hard to argue that McMullin protest votes would have went D and like I said earlier, I think the Johnson votes were more protesting Trump than Clinton. If Stein had pulled more votes, I think the argument that third party impacted the election would have been more compelling. When I heard last night that exit polls showed 55% of voters wanted to see the country move in a more conservative direction that the night was not going to unfold as many had envisioned.

Again--do you know for a FACT why he is orange?? As for that being the nicest thing---I remember someone calling Obama BO and getting slapped down hard, so now that the shoe is on the other foot everything is fair, and you wonder why you lost. I stopped coming to the political threads recently because the hypocrisy from the left is just too much. Hillary lost and you have to deal with it, just like we had to deal with 8 years of Obama. The world is not going to end because she lost. We either come together as a country or it will not matter who is in the White House. We have had 8 years of being told elections have consequences and to get in the back we lost and we said we have has enough. You can continue with your vitrol but remember you (the general you) spent 8 years talking down to those who disagreed with you.

The simplest and easiest reason is likely the accurate one.

For the record, I'm technically a Libertarian, so there is no "on the other foot" for me. And I was never one to denigrate either side, but listening to Dump has taught me that I no longer need a filter. So I will call him whatever I want, and no, I don't have to get over it.

Elated. That is what I felt when Pennsylvania my home state was called for Trump. With a majority in both the House and Senate, President Elect Trump has political capital and he has a mandate to use it to make better deals on behalf of the American people.
Make America Great Again!
