Dh and I have decided to limit ourselves to spending only $100 on each other this year for Christmas. I could easily just buy one thing and be done, but dh really loves to open wrapped packages.
I'd like to find a bunch of things for $10-20.
A bit about dh - he's going through a midlife crisis, he sold his four wheelers and truck, he bought a Jeep, he loves mildly hot peppers, he's a fan of old Doctor Who and various British tv shows, he loves to tinker with stuff, he can't eat sweets or lots of carbs.
Any ideas?

If you are on Pinterest, try search for guys stocking ideas or even teen boy stocking ideas. You can find a lot of things you never even knew existed and they tend to all stay under the $20 price point.

I did a 12 days of Christmas for DH last year. I found something small for each of the 12 days leading up to Christmas. It wasn't a lot of money but it really helped my dh feel like I was spending extra attention to him. I actually did a gift based on the song but you wouldn't need to do that. For example, for the first day (a partridge in a pear tree) I wrapped up a really nice pear and left it in his car for him to find. For the ladies dancing, I found a hula girl air freshener for his car. I googled "tags for 12 days of Christmas" and found a nice set on the old Creating Keepsakes site. I just punched them out and glued them to scalloped circles. I then tied or taped the tags to the presents with baker's twine. I haven't decided if I'm doing it again this year or if I'll do it next year. He did love it, though. ::

My DH is about as much of a "guys guy" as you can find and I always struggle with gifts for him. Just as a goof I bought him a puzzle for Christmas one year that had a subject I knew would make him laugh. We threw it on the card table in the living room and enjoyed working on it whenever we watched TV over the next few weeks. (We didn't enjoy constantlyretrieving puzzle pieces from under the sofa and elsewhere around the house. Cats and puzzles, not such a good mix!) So anyway, that's become kind of a Christmas tradition for us now. He looks forward to his puzzle. But won't touch one again for the rest of the year, LOL.

Do you have a Fuego store in your mall? I was just there yesterday looking for a specific T shirt and they had a lot of Dr. Who stuff. It really is my "go-to" store for quirky stuff for son-in-law's stocking... Edited to add: I don't know what State you are from but I just checked the website and Fuego has stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

My DH needs to carry a lot of things around everyday, but he refuses to carry a satchel or man purse. The kids and I found some metal lunch boxes online and we've been buying him a new one every year. He has boxes with the Muppets, Star Wars - Yoda, and Dr. Who. He loves them! He sets them on the shelf in his office and swaps them occasionally. He can easily carry his wallet, his meds, his blood sugar monitor, etc in them. He doesn't take them in with him when he visits clients, but he doesn't have to worry too much about anyone breaking a window to steal an old style metal lunch box. I think each box was under $20, including shipping.
You could wrap individual items to go into a themed box -
How about an old style Transformers lunch box with car stuff in it - a small WD-40, a Leatherman style tool, a tire gauge, funny themed duct tape, small trash bags or Ziplocs, or other car needs or cleaning products?
An ABBA or Partridge family box to hold music accessories - cords, earphones, fast chargers?
He-man box with colognes, razors, beard shampoo or other 'manly' things (duct tape and WD-40 would HAVE to be a part of a manly box, right? Don't they lose their man card if they don't have multiples of those around?)
Last year I found chap stick in the scents and colors of old candies. DH can't have candy, but he loved the chap sticks.
Any chance your DH would like to grow some peppers? there are several websites that specialize in peppers, from mild to burn a hole in your esophagus (sp?) The seeds for the rarer peppers can be a bit expensive, but Bakers' Seeds has a really great selection of mild to not crazy hot seeds. Add in a fancy vinegar (or vinegar making kit) and he could have a lot of fun starting the seeds in January. Both pepper growing and vinegar making have a lot of online groups that are fun to chat with, if he's looking for a new hobby.

I'm just wondering how this is part of a midlife crisis? most guys around here, own, 4 wheelers, a truck, AND a jeep. Now if he went out and bought like a sports car, or mustang, yea....but jeep? nope.

I think I saw some different flavors of Frank's hot sauce at the grocery store the other day (Safeway: Albertson's). They were mini bottles and about $1 each if he likes hot sauce.

Now if he went out and bought like a sports car, or mustang, yea....but jeep? nope. Lol. I get ya. Dh has spent the last 15-20 years being an "outdoor guy". He hunted, camped, rode four wheelers, hiked, etc. He started out with a Ford Ranger in the late 90's and bought bigger and bigger trucks every 5-6 years. We've had a pop-up camper and a 20 footer. He's had three or four atv's. Last summer, we sold the camper because we didn't use it. In the past two months, he has sold one of his two atv's (the other is till for sale), traded his truck in for a Jeep that would fit into the bed of his truck, and has started talking about not hunting any more. Maybe not so much a mid-life crisis, more a "what do I want to do/be?" process?

Has he watched MI5? If not, I'd try to get him the show on DVD. Fantastic British show.
My DH enjoyed a sock of the month subscription. He opened a new pair every month that arrived in the mail. I bought 6 months worth but you can buy 3 months or 1 year too.

If he's into gardening... We have grown these every year for about 10 years. They are a GREAT conversation piece! We started by purchasing the seeds off of the internet. Now we purchase the plants to make it easier. Penis Pepper[/b]

We always stuff dh's stocking with gum. Only gum! It's usually enough gum to last him for the whole year. I don't know if you do stockings, but you could do a box full of something small like that. Dh keeps losing his sunglasses (or leaving them in his car and wearing mine! ) so this year I'm going to buy 15-20 pairs of cheapy dollar store sunglasses and put those in his stocking.

I always like to check out ThinkGeek.com for quirky things for DH's stocking. He's a total geek though! They always have interesting stuff.

I always find cute gifts at World Market where they sell an array of products and food items from around the world. And plus they have good sales and coupons. I love their candy section, candy from Germany, Japan, France, etc...

My friend did an awesome gift for her fiancé. She went on Groupon and bought gift certificates for either Subway and a day out on the parkway, museum tickets and a day walking around the city, A date to the "Star" (local attraction) with a picnic....you get the idea. She put then in a binder in page protectors and had 12 different experiences, some costing nothing, to do each month! He loved it!

If he's a Dr Who fan I really like their glass set that fads. They have TARDIS and it fad with the heat or cold. Just don't put them in the dishwasher. I got them from ThinkGeek.
