I was driving by the GW and remembered the post by DEX about scoping out the store for Friday. Well, I went in and did more than scope it out.
I got three Pyrex bowls for $1 each. The insides were dirty, but I know that the marks come out with a Magic Eraser. I also got three different Tiki cups for the summer. Plus, a vintage ceramic santa for 50 cents.
Another shopper came up to the counter and started putting her purchases on it. She had some beautiful stuff. Each thing she added to her pile was better than the last. She had scarves that were so pretty that I had to congratulate her on her finds. They were all silk and $1 each for today only. I know there are peas that would have loved them.
I know that a lot of you will be out shopping this weekend. Don't forget to post about what amazing bargains you find.
I wish you safe travels and hope that you find everything on your lists.

Very envious of her find of $1 silk scarves! I plan to stop by the thrift store tomorrow before I head to the grocery store. Not really looking for anything in particular, but hopefully something wonderful will be waiting on me! Do you plan to go back on Friday? Save

also envious of the $1 scarves!! 'my' GW just changed the pricing on those to be $2.49 each, across the board, with no colored tags on them any more, so no chance of 50% off any longer. They did something similar with belts, too. I don't know why they did it, exactly, but personally, I don't like it!

I will do the early morning shopping with the intention of getting home around 10:00. Then the family heads to a nearby town to watch a balloon parade. Some of them are the same balloons that fly at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. When they can, some other family members join us as well. After that, we head to a festival of trees, which are trees decorated, displayed in a shopping place near the parade route and then raffled off for charity. We watch an amazing puppet show and have Chinese food. Then I headout for round two of shopping.

I dropped by the thrift store on the way to the grocery store this morning. Not much that caught my eye. They said they'd be closed Thurs & Fri and reopen at 9 am on Sat. Tonight they are going to push as much out to the floor as they can, so I may drop by on Sat. to see if there are any goodies I can't live without. I did pick up 2 more scarves though. One is a Talbot's silk oblong scarf/tie for a friend. She was looking for a specific color and this will be perfect - for just $2. The second scarf is for my growing collection, and a designer I didn't have! It is this Salvatore Ferragamo scarf! Still has the original folds and is in pristine condition. Just $4.00. Considering a new SF scarf this size retails for $380, I'm happy with what I paid! Now to get busy with Thanksgiving prep. Happy bargain hunting to everyone this weekend!
