I would not love a "thumbs down" button for posts. Just sayin'. Again. (There are plenty of posts to which my first reaction may be a thumbs down, but I still firmly feel that they would add negativity without any chance for reasonable conversation. Not that we always manage reasonable conversation now, but I just don't like the idea of giving us any extra negativity to toss around. We have several angry, annoyed, & confused smileys at our disposal. They take a tiny bit more effort, but sometimes I think it's good if we have to use a bit more effort to throw out a negative response. )

Every once in a while I read a post that makes me go ACK! But I do think a thumbs down without any explanation would bring a lot of hurt feelings. I think it is nice when two arguing Peas can agree to disagree and not get in a huff. I think the eye roll emoji is about the same thing.

I'm on a message board that has a thumbs down and it gets ridiculous. Down voting seems to be a sport for some people. I say use a smilie to voice displeasure.

I would not.
If you disagree or dislike something quote it and say why you dislike it or disagree.
That's the whole point of a discussion board.
What a boring board it would be if we all just clicked thumbs down instead of actually talking to each other.

I'd like a way to hide or close an entire thread. Just "click" and poof, the thread disappears from my feed. It still remains visible to everyone else who wants to see it. But it's out of my sight and mind.

Nah, it's much more fun if you reply and tell them to eff off.

Nah, it's much more fun if you reply and tell them to eff off. Sometimes it's not worth the effort to do that. A thumbs down would be a much quicker way to get a post across. I'm with ya trollie. But this board is too nice for that. Or if we can't have a down vote, get more choices like on FB.

I don't think we need a thumbs down button. We already have other options, such as: or or or or or or or or even I do love our smiley options.

I really don't see a need to add an "easy button" for the negative nellies on here. Make 'em work for their miserableness.

I really don't see a need to add an "easy button" for the negative nellies on here. Make 'em work for their miserableness. Actually I notice when one person attacks another person, a bunch of spineless people will hit the like button on their post, as if patting that person on the back. So the like button is being used by those that don't have the balls to jump in to the fray. I always make a point to see who hit the like button.
