**UPDATE BELOW**
Out of the blue yesterday I started with what I thought was pain in my chest area right side...uncomfortable for a while..Couldn't take a deep breath...arm would tingle (right side only) Last night when I went to lay down I couldn't because there was pressure...had to almost sit up to sleep..it's more now feeling like upper rib cage area then chest..
Question being...pcp can't do much other than probably send for scan? Urgent care only maybe an xray? Would u try an ER since they could do all?
***update*** So I just spent 4.5 hours in the ER, blood work, xray, CT scan with dye and they can't figure out the source of the pain! Said didn't think gall bladder, ruled out blood clot, checked my liver. Said possibly ulcer or gastritis. Gave me two RX to try and see what happens. Glad nothing major but I hate "mystery symptoms "!

Do you still have a gallbladder? If yes, are you still experiencing symptoms? If yes, go to the ER and ask them to check your gallbladder for stones or sludge or an infection. If you're not still having symptoms, I'd schedule an appt with your GP, and make her aware of what's been going on. The next time you have the symptoms go to the ER to get your gallbladder looked at wih an ultrasound.

Oh yes still very uncomfortable this morning...going to get kids to school then figure out what to do. Hate to find out indigestion! But I honestly don't think so.

I really think an ER right away would be a good choice! Please take care of yourself! While I hope it is nothing serious, I've certainly read that heart trouble for women can present unusually.

Sounds like your gallbladder. I'd start with a call to your PCP

Didn't you recently have shoulder surgery? Was it that side? I would go to ER.
*My husband has some shoulder issues, so your posts had stuck out to me, not a creeper lol

Start with your doctor. The emergency room is for true emergencies. The fact that this has gone on for hours and hours indicates that it is not an emergency.

I had symptoms similar to that and was diagnosed with costochondritis. Terrible pain in the ribs. Couldn't take a full breath. Mine came on in the middle of the night so I went to the ER, where a round of IV toradol proved to be the solution.
I would call my primary this morning. But don't be surprised if you say chest pain and they say to go to emergency - that's just protocol some places.
Hope you feel better soon!

I have no idea but want to add that my dsis had gallbladder problems and had some of the same symptoms. She was actually short of breath when she laid down and had similar pain..(also bloating etc.) Get it checked out, I would probably start with the regular doctor unless you feel it is more urgent.Hugs!!

Go to the ER right now. Don't self-diagnos, you could be risking your life.

Yea I don't think my pcp can do much other than send for a scan, and I can't afford 2 co-pays in one day!

I have it on my left side, right below my heart. It always freaks me out a bit when I have a flare, because it's a sharp pain, then just pressure under my heart. It's called something else when it's on the right side...

I suppose it is good that they didn't find any urgent issues but frustrating to have all that time and those tests and no answers. Hope the medication helps and you're feeling better soon.

Yes it's very frustrating. I don't want anything really wrong but I'm not imagining the pain and pressure either!

Do you have a GI? I would think that is a must. It could be muscular, but if it's GI you might be able to fix that faster. BTW-my gallbladder tests were all normal, but my gi was convinced it was my gallbladder. When they did surgery it was acute. Muscle stuff can do it, as well. Time to let the specialists have their say. Wishing you quick answers and a solution soon.

Just no idea what could be causing the pressure, especially when I lay down, discomfort all thru my right arm. And stressing over it makes it worse. I've come into work but don't know if I'll make it all day...especially since no one has asked yet how I feel (close knit office of 6 women) Makes u go into the bathroom and cry. Which hurts more Sorry...just beyond frustrated and "alone" at the moment..

Made an appt with a GI dr for Monday morning....unless I wind up back in ER sooner Thinking of you this morning. How are you feeling, twoboyzmom? Thank you! Much better...turns out they said I pulled/strained/tore a muscle, probably in PT 2 days before it started hurting. Still feel it if I sneeze or take a hard breath, but better. Scary for a few days but glad it wasn't anything serious. Appreciate all the posts!
