They had to merge either last night or wait two weeks so they have an odd number.
Like that Taylor, Jay, Will and Michelle didn't see that coming, but I wish Taylor had gone home.

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but I LOVE THIS SEASON! And the geeks shall rise again! LOL
However, I think once the self-proclaimed "pretty people" from the millenials are gone, the remaining stand a very good chance of getting picked off by the gen-xer's.
Whatever happens it's going to be fun watching it play out.

I didn't think they set Michelle's vote out up very well in the episode.
I missed whether they said Michelle was the first member of the jury. Did anyone pay closer attention than I did?

I agree that there didn't seem to be any discussion about voting her out ... wouldn't you want to start voting out strong players after the merge? Taylor? Jay? Ken?

I didn't think they set Michelle's vote out up very well in the episode. I missed whether they said Michelle was the first member of the jury. Did anyone pay closer attention than I did? When the guys were discussing who to target, the push was for Taylor but they were really concerned he had a HII or that Jay would pass it to him and that is when Michelle's name came up. I think they settled on Will (IIRC), but when he won the IC, the backup must have been Michelle. I think it was a case where they had a ton of great footage this week and concentrated on Taylor's food stealing, Zeke overhearing conversations, Adam playing too hard, etc. I personally would have preferred to see Taylor gone, but he isn't nearly as smart or strategic as Michelle. Her mistake was laying low this week. I said last week that the Mill 4 (Jay, Tayl, Michelle & Will) made a huge mistake in not forging stronger relationships with GenXers. They didn't learn anything from each of the last three tribals where a majority alliance member was voted out, including the one Jay orchestrated last week. What is up with Tayls hoarding food? He does it in the dark and hides it, which says he knows it isn't right or fair. But then behaves like it is all good and okay, because, bro his stomach was gurgling. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/JvSt42CUoZ9LG952aAaF.jpg) Way to give up a chance at a million dollars for dried banana chips. Adam, I thought you were doing really well until the last two weeks. Slow down!! Tagging along with Tayl on his midnight snack run and sharing the reward steal info just had me shaking my head. Suggesting Will as the boot? Does he not see that strong 4 alliance. Does he not remember being responsible for ejecting Figgy? I was beyond impressed with Jessica last night at the IC. SaveSave

I was kind of bummed but as a Gen X myself I find myself rooting for them anyway!
Hope you are feeling better today, Leanne.

Watched this after barely sleeping for 5 nights (ran out of my meds for my sleep disorder) so I barely caught most of it-so please bare with me as I only remember bits and pieces of it. (There was a mix up at my GP's office on getting the refill. The office staff made a major mistake and wouldn't call it in. Finally had an appt. with my ENT doc and he graciously wrote me a prescription for it-love that doctor. I slept for the first time last night all the way through).
Anyway, from what I remember-yeah, what is up with Taylor stealing food from the whole tribe at night and going to the beach and eating it? I always thought he was an airhead and this just goes to prove it even more. You know, Survivor is like being shipwrecked on a beach. You only have a certain amount of food for the entire team. Food is essential in this type of situation, as in shelter, fire and water. Everyone is always hungry. As a member of the tribe food is rationed out and everyone is trusted not to steal any of it, because that would make less for everyone-impact their survival in a real situation, but in Survivor it impacts their game performance. But Taylor, Taylor is a burn out, surf dude, air head. Here he goes stealing food and he doesn't even realize what a huge target that would put on his back if he were caught? I'd vote him out as fast as I could just for doing that.
And Adam-what the hell? Adam, I thought you were smarter than that. Why, oh why did you have to go and open your mouth and tell Taylor about your reward info? Taylor is a downright airhead. You can't trust the guy as far as you can throw him. He's not going to stop and think, "Hmm, should I be sharing this information?" before he opens his mouth and blabs it to anyone and everyone. Adam you just put a target on your back. And I really liked you. Especially when you were talking about buying that house for your Mom.
Cannot believe Hannah made it to the merge. Pretty shocking considering she's terrible at both strategy and physical challenges.
I'm thrilled that Ken made it! He's still my number 1!
As far as the immunity challenge-wow wasn't that a surprise? David did so much better than I thought he was going to. Jessica and Will were phenomenal, and very much surprised me since I thought a more physically fit person (in the arms) like Ken would have won this challenge.
I think getting Michelle out was a good move because although she's been playing "under the radar" for the past couple of episodes, she's a very strategic player.
That's about all I can remember. I'll have to go back and watch it again, now that I've gotten some sleep. Can't wait until next week.

P.S. Leannec-I hope your migraine is completely gone. I've had those for 36 years and I know how horrible they can be. My German grandmother always told me once I was finished with menopause they would disappear. Well, my cycle stopped 4 years ago and they are almost gone. I still get one every 3 or so months, but nothing like they used to be. I wish you luck and anytime you want to talk to someone about migraine advice please pmail me. I've been through it all in 36 years.

Jessica was awesome in the challenge. I swear Taylor must have some pot in his backpack. He always acts high at the tribals. ETA: As someone down-thread says, I think now that it is Jay who wants to buy his mom a house. Have you tried Topomax as a preventative? A lot of folks have side effects from it and can't take it but I was one of the lucky ones who never had a problem with it. Also, magnesium is wonderful as a preventative and is available over the counter. I see a Integrative Medicine doctor which is a doctor who is an internist who also practices alternative medicine. He prescribe a supplement called "NeuroMag" from Designs for Health for me as a migraine preventative. Basically it has 144 mg. of magnesium in it and something else. Anyway it works really, really well. You can order it online.

I'm coming in very late on this. For some reason, I started watching Survivor on my DVR Wednesday night and all of a sudden it shut off and erased the whole show. I was beside myself! It wasn't available on demand until Friday so I just watched it Friday after work and then had to go straight to book club. Probably no one will even be returning to this thread now! Oh well....lol.
I agree with everything you said Debbie (about Taylor being a jerk with the food stealing and Adam being an idiot for trusting Taylor).
Okay, like Mimi, I am LOVING this season too. We're seeing some really interesting characters, great strategizing and game play. This is what happens when you shoot for getting more real fans on the show rather than recruiting people (although I'm sure some recruiting happened this season too. I love there are some likable characters and that even the ones that aren't, they aren't ridiculous over-the-top villians--they're just you're run of the mill fools or selfish people.
It's always fun to watch the merge--it's like a big giant party! I was curious to see whether people would go back to strictly original tribal lines or if they would incorporate old alliances with new ones. I think the people that are going to be more successful are doing the latter. The "cool kid" Millenials immediately went right back to their little clique--replacing Figgy with Will (who was always in it but a little on the outskirts), not realizing that it didn't work before and only put targets on them. The freak and geek Millenials know they are on the outside and no that those guys are more successful athletes, so what on earth would make them want to stick with them? I really like seeing a mixed alliance from both tribes. It's so much more fun that way.
When I saw Taylor sneak into that food I was so disgusted. And did you hear the line he said--"I'm really good with mason jars." Very impressive Taylor! You know how to open jar lids, pour things from one jar to another--that is quite the skill! My dd and I both looked at each other like "what??" I loved that Brett saw him doing it and I loved that Adam did too (until I realized he was going to use the information not AGAINST Taylor, but to get back with him!). Adam, that was so disappointing. And then, to make matters worse, he shared the knowledge about his "reward stealing" power. Dumb, dumb, dumb!
The immunity challenge looked painful. I'm not surprised some of the fit, muscly guys went out quick. I think when you have big muscles, these kinds of challenges are actually harder for you. I think that Jess is really impressive. She's so much stronger than she looks. I really wanted to see her beat Will. I also love that Will was gracious to her when he won AND that he made the comment about "needing this immunity". Big red flag Adam--he knows. The cherry on top was when Zeke overheard Taylor and Jay talking about Adam. I love, love, LOVE when someone eavesdrop and hears stuff like this. It is so delicious! Remember that one guy who won, how he actually make that little spying hideout. That was awesome. I was afraid Adam wouldn't believe Zeke when he told him, but I think hearing Will's remark about needing the immunity helped.
I concur with everyone who said that the voting out of Michelle wasn't a huge surprise. They did discuss wanting to vote out Taylor (who they felt definitely did not have an HII but that Jay did and might give it to him) and they felt Michelle wasn't someone the cool kids would suspect them getting rid of so she was their safe bet. I really wish they had voted out Taylor though because they had the element of surprise at this tribal (the cool kids thought the nerds would just follow them blindly) and now that element is gone. They will be on high alert and they WILL use that idol on one another next time.
I liked how they all pointed out that Taylor was the food stealer. Such an idiot that he doesn't even care. And I also loved that Jeff (and then the rest of the tribe) wouldn't let his lame excuse of "stomach problems" fly as to why he needed to steal and eat food in the middle of the night. Which of the Gen Xers called it just what it was--selfish?
Anyway, I'm sad that Taylor is going to use Adam's reward steal power against him next week. The kid has it coming but I still have a soft spot for him. But seriously, what's more of a threat--a kid that can steal a reward from someone or a guy that can win immunity challenges one after another?

Jackie you're back! I came back tonight to see if you'd posted because I missed your comment. I love reading your comments on Survivor because they are long and intense, and you often point out things I've missed. That's funny that for a change this time you said you agreed with everything I posted ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) (instead of me staying I agreed with everything you posted since you usually beat me here). I think we see and think the same about Survivor. I wish you lived closer-we'd probably be great friends. If you ever make it to Maryland look me up-we can meet for coffee. I agree with everything you said too ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I think this might be my favorite season ever, or at least from what I can remember. I've watched every single season, every episode since Day One. Usually it takes me a few episodes to "get into" the season, but with this one I've loved it right from the start. I agree with you Jackie that having players who apply because they desperately want to play the game vs. having a ton of players on a season who are recruited because they are beautiful, or might make a great villain but aren't fans of the game or really know how to play the game makes a huge difference. I missed Taylor saying, "I'm really good with mason jars". Oh my gosh! That proves it-either weed has really fried his brain or he was dropped on his head as a baby. I do remember the guy who won who made the spying hideout. He called it the "Spy Shack" I thought that was the most clever thing ever! Was that Tony the cop? I can't wait for the next episode. This is such a fun season!

Thanks Debbie! I think we would be great friends too. I'm convinced one day we'll meet. I've been to Maryland before no reason to not go back again one day!
I'm glad to hear that at least a couple people like my posts because when I'm writing it I often think that people think I'm nuts and wonder if I have a life (the answer to that is YES, but I just love Survivor!). Like you, I've watched every season and every episode. I've watched most seasons twice and a few of them three times. So....maybe I DON'T have a life...lol. Anyway, it's my favorite.
I had to go back and listen to that part of Survivor where Taylor said that, just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, since no one else mentioned it. I listened and here it is
My dd, who was watching with me, said, "I thought he was going to do something really cool, like some sort of canning move or food preservation move." Nope. He was going to open jars (and very noisily I might add; I'm surprised he didn't wake the entire camp) and move food from one jar to another.
And yes! Tony was the name and it was the spy shack. That was hysterical.
All I have to say is that a Gen X better win this thing. The Millenials are not good. The only one deserving to win or go far is Zeke.
