UPDATE: And another one bites the dust . . . and to the pea who suggested using gumdrops, that did the trick. Woke up to a 'click' around 1:00 a.m. - not happy that he woke me up but happy to catch another little rodent!
So, besides being tired I'm thankful it is Friday. Going to spend the day with my Mom tomorrow doing some Craft Show therapy and then a late lunch with a group of relatives around 2:00. Today is just finishing the workday and getting on to the weekend and stretchy pants!
So a mouse had the nerve to be in my kitchen last night, running around like he owns the place and making me yell at him (like that is going to do any good)! I set three traps with peanut butter and went to bed. Checked my trap line (yes, that is what I call them like I'm a mighty hunter) this morning and discovered he was a greedy lucky little mouse on the first two traps. But lo and behold that third trap got him! (or his brother). Off to the hardware store at lunch today to get some more traps - UGH!
How is your day going?

Your mouse story reminds me of the Mouse Hunt movie with Nathan Lane. Hilarious.
So far my day is good. The guys at work will be out on a job site with our crane, so the office here should be very quiet.

So far, seeing it's still early, my day is going great. My SO had a heart procedure done yesterday so I have him at my house but still came to work today. I figure I"ll take a two hour lunch so that he can shower while someone is home. I don't think my DS who is 21 wants to stand guard outside the bathroom lol. I have a couple meetings this afternoon which I pray aren't painful. The one running it loves to break us into groups etc etc. Please no one gives a shit to be honest besides, we're going to do whatever you tell us to do. So stop the games. Damn now I"m getting cranked up knowing whats coming. Not that I wanted my SO to have something bad and be kept in the hospital overnight, it would have been the perfect excuse to take another day off!

I'm taking my DD to see "Trolls" later. And that's the perfect excuse to eat chocolate.

I've been doing a semi-long term subbing job and today is my first day off. So nice to wake up realizing I don't have to work today! I still have to get my own kids off to school, run a ton of errands, and go to a mtg tonight, but for now it's nice.

Target is confusing me. That's how my day is going right this moment. I ordered 3 toys, 3 gift cards, and 4 boxes of lights from them in 3 different transactions. I have been charged for the toys & the gift cards so far, in the exact amounts I was expecting to be charged. So far, the gift cards have not arrived but I did receive 3 packages. The toys came in one and the lights were split into 2. Now, I earned a $10 gift card for buying the lights, which arrived in my email immediately. But, the charges for the lights have me baffled right now. Instead of a charge of $42.50, as I expected, I have one charge of $10 and one charge of $31.90. So if those charges are for the lights, then I am off by 60 cents. I also have a notification that they have shipped my bonus gift card to me. Do they mean the one they emailed to me 3 days before I received that notification? Or are they sending me a physical card with the same number as the emailed one. or did they mess up and are sending an extra card? And if the 2 charges are for the lights, why did they split them so oddly when the lights themselves were split evenly, 2 per box? And what happened to that 60 cents? I have no idea, so aside from keeping an eye out for the gift cards I am still waiting for, I'm just going to forget about the rest.

I have a day with nothing scheduled...and I'm feeling a bit better with my head cold. At least I seem to be past that hot/cold/hot/cold thing. Planning to spend some time in the sewing room. I have a quilt top to finish putting together, then I need to get a start on Christmas gifts. Will probably fire up the embroidery machine and let it stitch while I sew on the other machine. Before I get going though, I think I'll go make my own fluff post and share photos from the Quilt Festival last week. There was some amazing stuff there!

Going good, I got this this morning before work and it's delicious! I may need another...a load of laundry set so it will be washed when I get home. And I didn't have to cook yesterday! Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino

I am behind today. Had to take the little pup for his cast change and X-rays this morning. Thus I haven't jogged yet with the big boys. Getting ready to do that. At least it is warmer now. Happy mouse hunting. Oh dear!

Try setting the trap with bacon that is partly fried. The little buggers love it and when they pull on it the trap gets 'em. No licking and running like with peanut butter! We have had much better luck with the bacon. Just make sure it is not crunchy, just partially fry it so it is a little stretchy. My day is great. I just got back from my daughter's orthodontist appointment. She doesn't have braces yet and won't need them for awhile!

I know this post wasn't meant to be political but today I registered as a Democrat in my state and in some small way it is making me feel better. And that is making my day better. 😊

Load of laundry #2 is in the washer, and I've scrubbed one toilet and shower. It's my last day off for a while, so I need to get up and get more done! I've probably spent more time on this site in the last 48 hours than I have in the previous 6 months.

It's one of those days where I feel weirdly stupid. lol
I spent over an hour on the phone trying to convince someone younger than my underpinnings that I need to get copies of my transcripts and no, I don't have a university of Florida id because in the Stone Age when I attended there was no internet for us to access our records through. Then I had to remember thing like when I first started UF (I can't remember where I put my coffee down ten minutes ago much less the year I started college) and finally they decided I was actually me and then had to navigate the system which made no damn sense and the font was so little on my phone I am still not sure what I did. Maybe registered for a zoolology class, maybe got transcripts ordered, maybe deleted myself. Who knows.
My realtor is on her way over to go over an offer that I don't understand. Maybe people smarter than me can get it without visual aids, but not me apparently.
I totally at the mercy of the computer guy who tried to tell me what's wrong with my laptop. He was speaking a different language.
And I won't even go into me and the young man at att trying to explain to me why I shouldn't just sign up for a iphone 7 while I am trying to explain to him that I just want to buy the 5s go phone and use it on my existing account. He can't seem to understand that I don't want to finance a phone, I don't need the newest phone, I just want one that works and the $150 phone can be squeezed into the budget thanks to a gift from my parents. It's a generational difference I'm sure-he even asked about financing cars and didn't understand buying outright vs financing. The older gentleman (my age) who was there with me was having the same reaction to the conversation. Honestly it made me feel kind of dumb while the kid was trying to convince me that I was being silly not getting the 7.
So I iust feel old and dumb today. I actually called my 18 year old at college while I was in the phone store to get his opinion. Bless his heart, he totally was on my side and even talked to the phone guy and hopefully sometime today I will have a phone without my plan changing. Stupid that I had to rely on my kid to sort it out.
And it's only 11:15. There is still plenty of stupid still left in my day. lol
Aren't you glad you asked?😂😂😂😂

I have a serious case of drag a$$ today. It's 10:20 and I am just now going to get in the shower.
Then I am making a homemade chicken pot pie so it will be ready to put in the oven this evening.

Today is going to be a quiet day for me. My mom has gone to visit her house and DH is booked with a client he really likes. I'm pretty much caught up on my bookkeeping and house work and I just got a copy of Kelley Armstrong's Betrayal, the fourth book in her Gainesville series. I'm seeing a chair, a blanket, and a mug of hot tea in my immediate future.
And Elaine's brisket for dinner tonight. Yum!

My day is okay for the most part. Needed to make appointments, couldn't due to insurance related things, have to talk to reg doc, etc, etc. So I wasn't successful with that. But then I did vacuum and declutter downstairs. Right now I'm taking a break to regroup my thoughts.

It got off to a rocky start...my washer broke this AM (had it fixed in August.) I have a whole load of too wet clothes. Completely annoying. Headed to an appliance store soon to see if they can hook me up with something bordering on commercial grade, lol.
On the up side, I've been annoyed with an insurance policy I have since setting it up in August. I never get any satisfaction from the agent. Spent a good hour on the phone today and I've got a new policy that is saving me $500 this year. I am so excited that today the agent gets my cancellation notice. While I like the savings, it's the principle more than anything!

OP- my sister has had good luck with gum drops or ice cream (in addition to peanut butter).
I'm tired- another night of not enough sleep. But it's a nice sunny day, finally coolish weather, and I was able to get an extra $15 fee off our Verizon bill.

I'm super excited about a dress I found at our little thrift store this morning! The pit & director for the musical are dressing in period for it so I get to as well. I was plannimg to wear a period dress I already had with a 40s hat. Did a trial run on a hairstyle last night. It looked great with the hat but when I added the dress I looked like mary poppins. Ha! So I went over to the thrift shop and walked in to see this STUNNING 2-piece suit. It fits the period but can totally be worn now. I was a little big but the lady working there is a seamstress & we set to work pinning it up as a temporary alteration. Best part is, it goes with a pillbox hat I already have and LOVE! I also have shoes that will work, jewelry, and a pair of adorable little ladies gloves. I'm so excited!
Oh - the dress was $4. Still had it's original $90 price tag.
