Last year I made a butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, bacon dish that was loved by everyone (well except my picky kids) Here is a link to recipe that is basically what I made, since I am not at home I do not have the recipe I used.

It will be just DH and I, we are having a dinner in honor of my Dad so we'll have lobster for Thanksgiving. He always said he'd be much more thankful to see a lobster on his plate than a slab of turkey. When he was alive we had lobster for Thanksgiving a couple of times for him,so I'm continuing now for him. DH is all for it! I will bake an apple pie, DH's request. 2 of our 3 kids will be here for Christmas with their SO's so I'll do the whole turkey dinner then.

For the first time, we made reservations for Thanksgiving. No clean up, no cooking, no stress! It's just three of us, and we are low-key anyway.

I'm not sure yet how many are coming, but it'll be no more than 10. I just found out that DH has to work and he usually does the turkey. Since he won't be here to help, I'm ordering most of our dinner from Fresh Market-the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry relish, and corn soufflé. Then I'll make roasted parsnips & sweet potatoes, dressing, green bean casserole (I'd rather have green beans with bacon from Fresh Market that sounds amazing, but the family insists on the casserole) and pumpkin pie. I'll also buy Hawaiian rolls and canned cranberry sauce. My sister in law will probably bring another dessert. It's a lot of food for a small group, but after we eat, I'll take a big portion of the leftovers to the hospital where DH works for him and the other staff.

My family is boring and we have the same thing every year. Talk of change doesn't go well.
Turkey Gravy Mashed Potatoes Stuffing (and dressing) Green Bean Casserole Butternut Squash (either roasted or mashed) Cranberry Sauce Biscuits (Pillsbury) Pumpkin Pie Apple Pie
Everything from scratch except the Green Bean Casserole and the biscuits. I keep trying to convince them that homemade casserole would be better but they resist. I think this year I will do it anyway. That's my contribution along with the mashed potatoes and canned biscuits. Maybe next year I can change up the biscuits. I never eat them anymore as I just don't enjoy the taste.
Appetizers are usually shrimp cocktail, veggies and dip and potato chips

My SIL and BIL are hosting. They are making the turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. She ordered a bunch of desserts, pumpkin pie, chocolate cream pie, cheesecake. I am making my whipped sweet potatoes with the crunchy topping, roasted brussel sprouts, and the chocolate chip cheesecake dip. My contributions were all specifically requested. Not sure what anyone else is bringing, but DS#1 will probably bring wine.

My mom likes to cook all/most of the main dishes. We all go to her house and we end up doing the potato mashing I always bring homemade cranberry sauce. This year I will also bring two dips, either spinach or another savory one and then cherry cheescake dip from pinterest.

Thanksgiving will be at my brother-in-laws with about 20-25 people. I have been instructed to bring an overly sweet broccoli pasta salad (tradition that I bring for ANY family gathering), green bean bundles (tradition) and pumpkin roll (yep, another tradition.)
On Saturday I will be making a mini Thanksgiving dinner for 4: Turkey, stuffing, cheesy potatoes, cherry coke jello salad, roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted butternut squash, cranberry sauce, rolls and gravy. Pumpkin roll for dessert (since the one I take for Thanksgiving dinner always finds its' way to a hiding spot.) I may or may not make a creamy corn casserole that contains salsa.

We go crazy in our house. It's my husband's favourite holiday. Plus I love to cook, it's one of the ways I show my loved ones that I love them. So it's pretty crazy here... This year we're expecting around 35 people give or take; family, friends, coworkers and neighbors. We're doing a watch-the-parade-sit-down-dinner-late-day-buffet-open-house thing. lol Peopl are invited to watch the parade, enjoy a sit down dinner or come later in the day for a buffet (same food as dinner). Stay for all or come as you will. For the parade we're having: large shrimp with lemon wedges and spicy cocktail sauce cranberry baked Brie antipasti platter For the actual food/dinner/buffet: roasted red pepper soup celebration salade (baby spinache/butter lettuce/dried cranberries/candied walnuts/feta cheese/balsamic vinegrette) apple brandy brined oven roasted turkey turkey gravy Stove Top stuffing apple pecan dressing (homemade) roasted garlic mashed potatoes orange honey glazed sweet potatoes corn souffle/casserole/pudding (heard it called all these things) Bruxelles style Brussels sprouts cranberry sauce (can) orange cranberry relish (homemade) garlic crescent rolls butter knots For dessert; coffee bar (various types of coffee/syrups/toppings ie cream sugar etc) French/Dutch apple pie pecan pie cheesecake (regular cheesecake with a pecan pie topping) mini pumpkin cream pies (none of like pumpkin pie too much) I have to-go containers for anyone wanting leftovers. I'm also giving everyone cran-orange white chocolate biscotti kind of as a party favour. We'll also have any food or drink that any of the guests bring. They're told not to bring anything but some times they still do. lol
