I am thinking about christmas for my husband. He likes watches but isn't like OMG WATCHES! lol. He doesn't wear a lot of jewelry. Watch, and 2 rings on weekends. I thought the wooden watch might be something really different he might like. I'm wondering how it might wear though.

I haven't, but my DH's sister and her husband run a gift shop, and they carry them. They are amazing quality. Our nephew has one he wears all the time and loves it!

One of our SILs has worn them for years. Our DD thought he would enjoy and he has loved it.

I love the look of them, but both DH and I are hard on watches. So many of the reviews so have read ( which is a lot since I really wanted one) have indicated that they aren't very durable long term. If you aren't someone who is hard on things then perhaps? I am constantly banging against stuff and getting things caught on things, etc. It would never last an ordinary day for me. I have come to accept it but I love the look of them so much

Thanks for suggesting this. I might look into it for DH. He is really hard his everyday watches (usually a Timex Ironman), but I think would like this for casual going out.

I'm finding them under $50. I figure if he breaks one it's not the end of the world. But they're kinda neat looking so I'm leaning towards a yes.

no but the ones I've seen have been absolutely beautiful. like art pieces. same goes with the wood eyeglass frames. I guess I just like non traditional things done in wood.
I wonder how comfy the wood watch is, though. you will have to let us know if you decide to get your DH one.

I bought one for my DS, they are beautiful. He doesn't wear a watch often, so I can speculate on how well it will wear, but I was tempted to get one for myself when I saw his.

No experience with them, but I really like the look of them. If my husband wasn't so darn rough on watches I'd get him one.

This wasn't in North America, though. It was a nice watch, too.

I bought my husband a Luno wood watch for Christmas last year. The face is wood but the band is leather. It's super light and looks sharp. He loves it so much he wants another one. Watches are his thing so he has a bunch.

I looked at one made from reclaimed bourbon barrel wood at THIS site. But they are above the price point you mentioned. Really sharp though!

Yes. I gave one to my husband for our anniversary a couple of years back, it's his favorite watch. Here is the watch I purchased for him. This year I gave him another watch, although not wood this time & a beautiful box that will hold 6 watches. He currently has 3 watches.
