Today I want to give a shout out to all the workers of this world, the people who faithfully show up at their jobs, and then go above and beyond: providing service, making things, fixing things, teaching skills, helping others. And for the many volunteers who do the work that individuals can't afford to pay for and that institutions don't provide. and I want to thank the parents who have the patience to let their kids help out before they are " good for anything". Those parents who give their kids chores and expect them to carry them out are preparing them to step up when their time comes. They are also instilling self esteem by providing an environment where kids can grow and develop and feel satisfaction in a job well done. Prompt pt for today: those who WORK My Page for today features my dgs up on a chair next to his daddy, measuring or using a level. He just loves to help out. Also, I have to say how proud I am of another ds's older kids who look out for their younger siblings, keeping them safe and entertained whenever either is needed. I am thankful to both these kids and to their parents for-- rather than making this an obligation--have built it into the fabric of everyone's daily lives: in our family, we do what has to be done, and we look after one another.

Work - I am thankful I have a job and I can provide for myself and my husband. I must say I wish I did not have to work, I have so many things I would love to do, but I do have to be tankful that I do work so I can afford those little luxuries in life. So thankful in my little town that does not offer many employment opportunities that I was able to find a job and have worked there for nearly 25 years.
