How are the New Zealand peas doing after the earthquake and aftershocks? My husband texted me early this morning, he is in Christchurch for a couple weeks for work.

I didn't feel anything in Auckland but we had a tsunami alert for a while. Wellington and areas of the South Island suffered the most so hope any Peas there are safe. Our Wellington office is closed while buildings in the CBD are assessed. Hope your husband wasn't too shook up maryland.

I'm absolutely exhausted. We were woken up just after midnight and have barely had an hour of sleep since. Here in Christchurch it was a long rolling shake, much different from our cluster of earthquakes in the last five years. The beach areas were evacuated as there was a small tsunami but it did no damage. Further up the coast there is seems to be quite a bit of earthquake damage.

He said it woke him up and he ran downstairs (he is in a hotel) and he said that is what he shouldn't have done. He said it seemed to last longer than it did. He said he felt seasick. He has heard about the earthquakes and aftershocks from his New Zealand co-workers. I am not sure how far he is from the coast. We haven't talked, just texted. I am glad you are doing well in Auckland! That must have been so scary for your country after the big earthquake in 2011. I hope all the peas are safe!
