for today, I would like to talk about GIFTS. I love giving gifts: thinking and planning about what will bring the recipient joy. Part of that is that I enjoy shopping, and shopping for others is guilt free! And I love using the gifts I have been given by God and nature, and give thanks for having been given the tools to build the life I am living. I am also really grateful for all the thoughtful gifts people have given me, no matter how much they cost. It really is the thought that counts. My page for today features the lovely flowers my nephew's wife grows each year and shares with us every few days in summer. The gift of beauty

We do a white elephant exchange at my sisters every year that's a blast...the funnier the better and no $$ pressure at all. Before that we would each make homemade gifts for everyone. I loved that, but it was too much pressure for my non crafty sister so we switched to the white elephant. My favorite gifts are homemade and I encourage my husbands family to go that direction, too, if they're inclined. You make great peanut butter balls or love to make wreaths? Yay...bring it on! I will pick my sister for tomorrow...she's definitely a gift to my family!
