Today we found out one of my dd's very good friends, who is 15, have Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It makes me sad, scared and angry. We have a team for relay for life, and we are in our second year. It is now very personal.
If you can please keep C in your thoughts and prayers, as well as her parents and brother, I would appreciate it.

That has to be a parent's worst nightmare. My thoughts and prayers go up for "C", for family, and friends.

Not to dismiss your worry, but this is highly treatable with very good success. The treatment is shitty but relatively short. I'm very optimistic for your child's friend.

Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts for C and her family. It hit my daughter last night. She realized anyone for no reason at all can get cancer. She is scared for her friend. I think she is scared in general now. |

It's natural that her Mum would be freaking out right now, I would be too. However, it's also good that she has a friend like you to stand with her and help her and give her hope. I also understand your daughter's fear, but am confident that you can discuss this realistically with her as well, which is a blessing to her. Best wishes to C and I hope things progress in a positive way soon. |

Yes, a friend of mine just finished treatment for Hodgkins Lymphoma (stage 2A) a few months ago. She has a few days that were really tough but she is doing GREAT! She stayed positive throughout, which is so important! She's a busy mom of 3 boys and after finishing chemo a few months ago, just spent the weekend getting certified to teach some fitness classes.  I'm very sorry for the diagnoses, just wanted to share another positive story! |
