I didn't want to hijack Amelia Bloomer's thread. Ds loves loves loves Hamilton. It would be a huge gift and the only one he would get from me for Christmas but he would absolutely love it and definitely not expect it because they are pricey.
So they have a Sunday afternoon show in January. Cheapest tickets are $550 apiece and of course I need to buy two. Bonding time with my kid, right? Is it worth it to attend even if you're in the cheap seats? These would be rear mezzanine side. Even just to get rear mezzanize center raises the price by $100 per ticket.
What to do? I know he would have a good time no matter where we sit just because he got to be there, and this will be something he will talk about for a long while after. This is the same kid that loves to use references from Sesame Street and Veggie Tales songs and videos as often as possible. It's our "thing".

Yes I have heard as long as you are not in limited view they are good.
If you are willing to wait broadway.com has them for a lot less... more than face value but not $550.
I paid $250 each for my orchestra seats... but I got them in February!!

We could go ON his birthday (In August) for $350 apiece. Still browsing but this makes me feel so much better.

I'm not sure if you are looking in NYC or Chicago... but there are seats for August on sale on the www.hamiltonbroadway.com/ you might even find them at face value.

ktdoesntscrap I got them! I got orchestra seating for a few hundred less overall than what the original pair in mezzanine would have cost at stub hub. Thanks! Now on to step 2 - listening to all these songs I never wanted to listen to so I can be in the know when we go. 😂 Supermom status here I come!

And our DVR is acting up so they are sending a replacement. Everything already recorded will be deleted! 😱 Have fun when it comes to you!

I think you can still watch it online but it's time-limited, so hurry. I think once you watch the documentary you're going to get interested. It's incredibly creative and it is NOT all rap if that's your concern. I saw it in NY and I have tickets for two performances in San Francisco this spring.

How fun and what a great surprise!
I got 8 tickets for the Chicago performance. We paid $82 and $177 (two different rows but near each other) for our tickets in dress circle, "obstructed view". My dd use to work for Broadway in Chicago, so I called her former boss and she said the seats are good for this performance. If it was a performance with platforms or something flying, etc., they would be obstructed. We will find out in April!! I downloaded the music and I really enjoy it.

I started listening to the music today and I am surprised I'm enjoying it. It's very clever. Keeping this fact a secret from ds for another month may be difficult.
