a.... looking for the silver lining my friends.
Trump's election is exposing how far we still have to go as a nation in regard to racism, xenophobia, homophobia, racism, misogyny, sexism, elitism and ever other dark ism, ist and obia still left over here in America. His election is shining a light on the darkest of the dark.
If YOU are not any part of these isms, ists, or obics, pls feel free to not feel offended by my post.
Praying that this will be a positive turning point for our nation in the end.

Except for the damage he could do in 4 years. He will appoint someone who does not believe in Global Warming. Just for starters.

I don't usually post on political threads, but I agree. All the good people are trying to do more good. That's pretty great to see.

I think "good" might be an over statement. It will be a very long 4 years. I agree that it has brought some things out that many people have kept well hidden for a long time, however, considering the rise in violence since the election, the division in the country and the hit our reputation has taken world wide, I'm not sure good is what I would call it.

I keep hoping the same thing. There are a lot of good people who voted for him, because they believe he can do the things he promised. Those of us who did not vote from him have already had our hopes and dreams crushed. With the cast of characters that are to be in power, the reality of the next 4 years is starting to sink in. I believe many will be disappointed in what was their last hope, and that's heartbreaking too.
ETA: regarding the silver lining, I hope that we can use this fiasco as a starting point for real change, rather than the pissing contest that our government has become. Sorry for the crude analogy, but honestly, congress is like a bunch of playground bullies. They have a job to do, and it's not getting done. Can we all say "You're fired!"

I wish I could see the silver lining. I heartily disliked him before the election, not so much for his republican views but for the disrespectfulness and vileness of his rhetoric. Now that I see what's going on with his family's involvement and the people he is considering as his advisers, I am truly horrified.

I agree with you trollie. This is pretty much our last chance to reject hate and evil. I'm really hoping we can manage to turn this crazy train around. Great, now I "hear" Ozzy yelling "All aboard!"

Sorry, but no. He's a con artist and ho only ever benefits himself. The damage he and his minions can do with all that power at their disposal makes me fear for our republic and our lives.

That was my hope until I saw who he has chosen for cabinet positions. He also can't seem to leave the rhetoric and actions from the campaign trail behind.
