First of all, this is a heads up in case you hadn't heard about the Sabra hummus recall - it has something to do with listeria at the manufacturing facility, although none has been found in the finished product. If you've purchased this recently, here is link for you: Sabra recall information
Second - I love modern technology. I received phone calls today from two grocery stores where I shop - Wegmans and Weis. Because of their shoppers cards, they are able to track who has purchased these products, and then make computer generated calls to the phone numbers linked to customers' accounts. Well done, computer people. |

I received a call earlier this year from Costco about a big veggie recall. I really appreciated the heads up. I haven't gotten a call about the hummus, though I do think the container in my fridge is included in the recall.

I love technology for this reason too. I just received an automated call last week from Kroger about some ice cream. I had bought 4 containers of it but we had already eaten 3 1/2 of them! Every time I get one of these calls, we have already eaten the product or most of it  So far so good, nobody has gotten sick. |

I'm glad I saw this post, because I have some of the recalled hummus in my fridge...I haven't eaten it for a couple of weeks and feel fine, but as a pregnant person this makes me a little bit nervous.  |

Rewards cards kind of creep me out (and I have one) but I am glad that they are able to use it for good.

I received a call from our local store--they could tell by my shopping card that I purchased it and said to come in for a refund!!!

This is crazy.
I was so, so sick for a few days. I was waking up in agony with stomach cramps and other gross things going on. I was freaking out because I ate ice cream and cheese and thought maybe I'm developing lactose intolerance.
It never occurred to me that I was snacking on chips and hummus the entire time because I eat that stuff constantly. Sure enough, I just checked my fridge and it's recalled Sabra I've been eating.
Thank you so much for posting. I bought it from a store that doesn't have a loyalty card or anything like that, and it's a massive tub so I would have continued eating it!

My message said to throw it out & bring in your receipt for a refund. I never keep grocery receipts.

Thanks for posting this. We had some that was recalled, and we bought it with our rewards card but we didn't get notified by the store. Did anyone else have that happen or is it just our sucky grocery store?

I rarely keep grocery receipts either except for the store that gives a local charity a percentage of all receipts turned in. |

Hmm. I finished off one container last week and started on another one this week, and I had a low-key stomach bug over the weekend. Glad for the heads up on this thread, because I wasn't notified by my grocery store. I was just thinking it was Trump-itis. I'm probably right.  |
