Hahahaha.
On Sunday I was silently cursing the woman who snatched the last two cans of sweetened condensed milk off the shelf in front of me in the baking aisle, when I rounded the corner and saw a giant pyramid of - you guessed it - condensed milk, about the size of that pile of sweet potatoes. There must have been several hundred cans. Jackpot!

You can laugh. I am convinced that when I finally drag my ass off the sofa and go to the supermarket for frozen chopped spinach, all the spinach hogs will have snatched it from the freezers.
hmmm, and then I guess I won't have to make creamed spinach after all, will I? hmmm ...

LOL. I had to go back to the store yesterday as I couldn't find any fried onions for the green bean casserole on Saturday morning. Somehow or another that dish is a big favorite with my family. I had dd go check all the end caps but we couldn't find any of the regular just the cheddar and carmelized flavors. They had plenty yesterday though.

LOL - on Saturday I saw a man using his iPhone to view the shelves of the baking aisle, specifically the nuts. His wife was on the speaker phone providing directions on which bag to choose and get. I laughed to myself thinking that was smart and I should do that with my DH who is horrible to send to the store for something. He once brought home a parsnip when I asked him to bring home garlic.

We hosted on Sunday, shopped for the majority of items on Saturday morning. I seriously could have just shopped the center of the store from the end o the aisles, everything I needed was right there. Except the cold stuff!

One can never have too many sweet potatoes, especially at that price! I bought a big ol' bag at Costco yesterday. I foolishly thought Costco wouldn't be too terrible at 1 p.m. on the Monday before TG. I was a little bit wrong about that. Then I had to scoot over to the regular grocery store for a few things I couldn't get at Costco. That was even more brutal, and they were out of jarred turkey gravy and canned whipped cream (don't judge my unhealthy choices!) Save

I am so hoping this was my last trip. I keep checking my list. But my grocery was (obviously) well-stocked two days before Thanksgiving. I went first thing this morning and it wasn't bad. I think things get progressively worse as the day goes on.

I went yesterday and even Cash and Carry was nuts. I parked at the back of the lot for WinCo because that was the closest spot I could find. It was like the time we went shopping when the 1st of the month fell on a Saturday. Crazy. We decided not to do sweet potatoes this year, so you can have mine.

Those sweet potatoes look great, and they look like they're all similarily sized.
I swear I spent 15 minutes looking for them without damage and to get them close in size today. They were very small or jumbo.

Obviously this wasn't Walmart. They had sweet potatoes in 6 different places. Everytime I found a new bin I put back the ones I had in order to get better ones. So today my future DIL informs me that her brother is bringing the sweet potatoes and I don't need to make them.
There's going to be a lot of sweet potato fries served next week around here.

I wonder if sweet potatoes like the dry because the ones at my store were massive also. Never saw so big before especially all of them

The ones I said were very small were the size of a child's fist. I've never seen either size before.

I love creamed spinach but I don't think it fits in with Thanksgiving dinner. It's only semi-rational. I'm only making it because my brother asked me to. So I did drag the 7yo to the supermarket today. He objected, but in the end he was happy, as he scored lots of junk food. As predicted, the frozen chopped spinach shelf had been emptied out, but the 7yo spied some frozen whole spinach on another shelf. Thanks, kid. Now I have to make creamed spinach AND I have to chop rubbery frozen spinach to do it.

I will call DS from the supermarket all the time to make sure I get the right ______ because if I don't it won't get eaten. (I grocery shop for lunches, still-I do not prepare them, though) Sometimes I will text him depending.
