I'm confused as to whether that is supposed be a good or a bad thing??? I love creamed spinach but I don't think it fits in with Thanksgiving dinner. It's only semi-rational. I'm only making it because my brother asked me to. So I did drag the 7yo to the supermarket today. He objected, but in the end he was happy, as he scored lots of junk food. As predicted, the frozen chopped spinach shelf had been emptied out, but the 7yo spied some frozen whole spinach on another shelf. Thanks, kid. Now I have to make creamed spinach AND I have to chop rubbery frozen spinach to do it. Life is too short to chop frozen spinach, toss it in the food processor!

I did my Turkey day shopping last Friday morning and it was already crazy at my store. I have my fingers crossed that I won't need anything more tomorrow when I start cooking.

LOL - on Saturday I saw a man using his iPhone to view the shelves of the baking aisle, specifically the nuts. His wife was on the speaker phone providing directions on which bag to choose and get. I laughed to myself thinking that was smart and I should do that with my DH who is horrible to send to the store for something. He once brought home a parsnip when I asked him to bring home garlic. And I thought I had the only DH that didn't know his veggies. Mine once brought home a zucchini and cabbage when I had asked for a cucumber and lettuce. Dh and dd got into an argument when I sent them to the store for a cucumber. I ended up with both

Oh yum! I love brussel spouts, I just discovered how to roast them with fresh garlic. I swear I could eat them as a snack. Care to share the specifics?

Your DH must be related to my Dad! I've watched my Mom give him a detailed list, go over it with him describing what the items look like and where they are located in the store, and he still comes home with the wrong thing. He'll also call like four times with questions when he's only buying two things. And then he gets mad when she doesn't want him to go to the store for her.

Hey, Meijer! Mine has like three different spots full of sweet potatoes. Yes but they had zero sage last night. Nada, nothing, not even organic. I had to stop by Kroger on the way home and snatched the last can off the shelf. That $2 can of sage cost me over $20 because I was starving and somehow a bunch of snacky stuff fell into my arms while I was dashing through the store. Meijer let me down. I'm so used to everything being in stock that I was quite taken aback by them not having dried sage when I decided, while shopping, that in spite of my children's pleas for Stovetop Stuffing I am using my Mother's recipe.

I just snorted out loud. Showed my former grocery store buyer husband and he didn't even get it.

I went to publix yesterday. People were *not* in a good mood. lol
I may or may not have gotten everything I need. The cashier started scanning my stuff into the person ahead of me order, and had to back them out. Usually jokes are made about paying for other people's stuff, but the young woman ahead of me apparently wasn't in a jovial mood so it kind of lent an air of tension to the transaction. I do know I got my pie crusts. lol
And the traffic was just ugly. I may not leave my house again until Thursday when I go over the river and through the woods to my moms for food. Or rather, over the 800 bridges over lakes and swamp land and through the orange grooves... lol

I've been known to include descriptions of boxes so they get the right one. I also include whether it is okay or not to buy the store brand of the item. One thing I can rely on is my husband coming home with four different kinds of bread. I still haven't figured out why he does it.

Toast the pecans first they said. It will taste so much better in the end product they said. Of course I got distracted and burned them. Back to the store or move on to plan B.
