Me (joking) to my MIL: a 25lb box of bridge mix is only 124 bucks
Her: The look on his face if we gave him that for his birthday!
Me: we could split the cost among the siblings (there are 4)
Her: I'm in
I am now getting buy in from DH's siblings to send his dad a 25 POUND box of bridge mix as a joke. (well, kind of he lurrrrrrves his bridge mix)
I love my IL's.

What is bridge mix? I've never heard of it, but assuming it's something to eat rather than something to build bridges...

Bridge mix is chocolate covered "stuff" - different types of nuts, maybe raisins?

Bridge MixA variety of raisins, peanuts, and almonds covered in milk and dark chocolate as well as milk chocolate pecans and cashews make up this chocolate bridge mix. An excellent addition to any party or gathering! As a matter of fact, bridge mix got it's name from the mix that high society ladies would eat while playing bridge!

I'm not a fan, but my IL's love the brachs brand. They can't get it in Ga for some reason, but our local grocery store sells it. My FIL texted me a couple of days ago asking for more for Christmas which led me to looking for something online where I could just ship it direct.
Be careful what you wish for bwa ha ha. (in my best Sheldon voice)

What fun! I love Bridge Mix. I haven't seen it in years, except for Brachs, which I don't like.

Love it.
My DS LOVES candy corn. Me not so much. It's a love or hate kind of candy isn't it? Anyway, after Halloween a couple years back, I just happen to be in Target when they were marking down bags to TEN CENTS EACH. I initially just grabbed a couple of bags for him. Then I went back and after seeing the expiration was years away I spent $3-5 bucks (can't remember exactly but A LOT) and bought enough to fill an large empty popcorn tin full of bags after bags of (bleh!) candy corn.
I put it under the Christmas tree. He opened it laughed and gave me the "Really, Mom? I can't eat all that." I told him to look at the expiration date and "yes you can". And he did. Took a long while but he did.

What sort of package does 25 pounds of bridge mix come in? I'm picturing like a bag of birdseed or dog food.

Wow, I haven't thought of Bridge Mix in years. Probably not since I worked at the candy/popcorn counter at Sears the summer after graduating from high school. I would buy that and chocolate covered peanuts and take them to my grandma!

I think the happiest day of DH life was the day we were at WinCo and he found they sold Bridge Mix in their bulk foods section.

My FIL texted me a couple of days ago asking for more for Christmas which led me to looking for something online where I could just ship it direct. Then what you need to do is send him a regular box (or two) of bridge mix all nicely wrapped for him to open. Save the big 25lb box for the last present he opens, and be sure MIL videos him opening it, in case the rest of the family can't be there to see it. Now, with 25 lbs, will he pick out all the stuff he likes and leave the rest for everyone else?

See's makes a bridge mix and they ship. I assume they have it in the stores too if you're local to one. See's candy is delicious, but I can't comment on the bridge mix since I haven't had it.

What is bridge mix? Is it like trail mix? In Canada it is a variety of chocolate coated candy (with soft centres), peanuts and raisins. A throw back! I'm not sure is it's still sold here. My favourite flavour as a kid was the Turkish delight...which is nothing at all like the kind from Turkey.

What sort of package does 25 pounds of bridge mix come in? I'm picturing like a bag of birdseed or dog food. That's hilarious! I was picturing a big plastic tub with screw on top, but your's is better. This reminds me of one of my favourite jokes. A preacher visits an elderly woman from his congregation. As he sits on the couch he notices a large bowl of peanuts on the coffee table. "Mind if I have a few?" he asks. "No, not at all" the woman replied. They chat for an hour and as the preacher stands to leave, he realizes that instead of eating just a few peanuts, he has emptied most of the bowl. "I'm totally sorry for eating all of your peanuts. I really just meant to eat a few," apologized the preacher. "Oh that's all right" the woman says. "Ever since I lost my teeth all I can do is suck the chocolate off them!!!" So, Bethany, I would keep my eyes open at your in-laws!
