I made a second lasagna a couple weeks back and put it in the freezer just for tonight! I have pies to bake and finish getting out all the "fancy" serving dishes - so this is thawing waiting to be cooked and then eat.

DH put beef stew in the crockpot for dinner tonight. I wanted something relatively easy and mess free so I could spend my evening making a cheesecake for tomorrow.

I'm having some leftover pad Thai tonight that I made yesterday to clean out the fridge. I also prepared my turkey and dressing for the oven tomorrow, and my deviled eggs. Tomorrow the only thing I'll have to do is put stuff in the oven.
I don't always participate in this thread because I'm single and will eat whatever I've cooked for nights in a row until it's gone. I'm quite boring that way. But thank you for always starting this thread.

The guys are having Meatball Sub Sandwiches, Fries, Salad and Pie for dessert. I made a Sweet Potato Pie, a Pumpkin w/Streusal Topping Pie and a Low Carb Pumpkin Cheesecake (for me) last night. Tonight I will be prepping the Cornbread Dressing, Cranberry Apple Sauce, Cranberry Fluff Salad (my picky son loves this stuff) and Scalloped Potatoes. I stayed up super late last night making the desserts. My guys "tasted tested" them all today after lunch to make sure they turned out right. Lol! They did, since their plates were wiped clean and they requested a second "taste testing" after dinner just to double check and make sure. 😁 They're just so dang helpful, aren't they?! Ladies, I really love these daily discussions on our families and meals. I am inspired by you, saddened and moved to tears for you, pray for you and your families, laugh with you and am so grateful for each one of you. Thanks especially scrapmaven for picking up the torch after our lovely akathy passed on. Happy Thanksgiving to you all, even if you aren't celebrating it here with us in the U.S., I am thankful and grateful for you all.

miominmio, sorry to read about your pony. scrapmaven, I'll add my thanks. You are the defacto leader of this bunch and we love you. My husband spent a memorable Thanksgiving on TPN, so we can sorta appreciate your strength. I had a wonderful girlfriend lunch at Panera. I enjoyed the Autumn Squash soup and immediately came home and found that recipe online. I'll be making that this weekend. I'm about to head to the kitchen to make a broccoli/rice/chicken casserole for DH's dinner. Yep, it's the one with cream of mushroom soup. I have no shame. I'm still fairly full from lunch, so I'll just have some fruit tonight. Happy early Thanksgiving to all.

I shared an Italian sub with Dh. I did some cooking this afternoon while he put up the Christmas tree and got Mr. Grinch out of storage. Allison loves him!

We've been super busy today. Had a few errands to run this morning. The one thing I really wanted, I couldn't find ugh! I've been baking rolls for Thanksgiving. Will do cranberry sauce tomorrow morning. My dh is in the garage trying to build a cardboard box fireplace for our preschoolers class He is awesome like that. I don't know if you guys saw the Dr Seuss shirt he made for our oldest last year?! It was awesome! Anyways, he has got talent! Oh so dinner... I've got teriyaki marinated chicken in the oven. Will slice it and add it to a nice big green salad. Didn't have much umpff for dinner.

Can I just say I love our dinner group. I told you about my day because I just feel comfortable here. It's like talking to a girlfriend over coffee, ya know. I'll get to the dinner part, but you gotta sometimes hear my day prior to that!
I am thankful for you all! Blessings 😊

Run to Costco and grab one of theirs. I'm not a fan of store bought pies, but their pumpkin pie is pretty darn good! True, but I'm sitting here cracking up at the very thought of 'just run'ning to Costo the day before Thanksgiving! OMG..the parking..nightmare...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I went on Monday to return a few things and it was as bad as any Saturday afternoon (when I normally have to go due to working during the week!) Horrifying!

This is a family and a home and I'm grateful for every single one of you. Let's take a moment and think of akathy. She's the true thread mama and a wonderful person to boot. tuesdaysgone, I'm sorry that your dh was on TPN. I'm sure he doesn't miss toting a heavy backpack w/all day lunch.

You guys realize that the International peas are going to have to carry this thread tomorrow because the American peas are going to be all about the turkey!

scrapmaven (screensaver ) ---You are so sweet, and I agree that your attitude is amazing!! I honestly do NOT know if I could be as positive as you are! I also took a moment to think of akathy, as you said--- miominmio ----SO sorry about your poor horsey!!! Many ((( hugs ))) We didn't know WHAT to have...lol....my brother had just arrived, the doggies were sooo excited! Hubbs was hungry way before us, so he had a can of soup and saltines, then later, after I "tested" my pumpkin pie to be sure it was "okay" .....I decided pigs-in-a-blanket and baked beans sounded yummy, and my brother agreed. For tomorrow, I made mini pecan pies in little mason jars tied with ribbon.....SO cute! I purposely did it for practical reasons: 1. becuzzz they're just so CUTE 2. Hubbs is the only one who wants pecan pie, and he'd only eat one piece 3. IF I made a whole pie, I would DEFINITELY eat too much of it, and I am fighting to keep losing weight! 3. The rest are going in the freezer and will be given away as gifts The one problem after dinner was that we were ALL craving dutch apple pie with vanilla ice cream, but no one wanted to go to the store, which was good I am NOT going to gain back the weight I've lost.....GAH!

I went out for dinner with some girlfriends. These girls are from my Mother's Group, we met 19 years ago when we all had our first children and we've been friends ever since. We went to a wonderful restaurant at a local winery just up the road from me. I had:
Filetto Di Manzo - Eye fillet of grain-fed Platinum Angus beef with a creamy peppercorn sauce, served with ricotta and parmesan mash and a tartlet of roast carrot, cherry tomato and local Persian feta topped with a pumpkin seed
Patate Schiacciate - Smashed crisp potatoes with garlic, rosemary and sea salt
Panna Cotta - A seasonal passionfruit panna cotta with honeycomb, ginger icecream and a limoncello biscotti made with our estate limoncello
