Now that you've convinced me that I *need* an Instant Pot, are the other brands worthy? Like the Power Cooker one on TV? I realize the $30 ones probably are junk, but I want to go to the store and buy one! Wal-Mart has the Power Cooker for $99. 8 quart. I kinda want it.

I have a fagor and an instant pot. They both work equally well for pressure cooking but the instant pot browns better and has more functions. I use both but if I was buying today I'd get the instant pot.

Or? There is no "or". Get the instant pot I kid, but I do see on the Facebook pages people often saying that they prefer the instant pot to other models that they have. Some of those people are hardcore pressure cookers. One woman has 5 that she uses everyday. I don't even have room for the one I have!

Instant Pot, all the way. I had a 8 quart Fagor that I gave to a relative and replaced with an 8 quart Instant Pot because I like it that much more.

Plus, if you buy it now from Amazon, it will be on your doorstep on Friday. You won't have time to play with it tomorrow anyhow. Go for it!

And it's also entirely possible the Instant Pot will be on sale for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I would hold out at least until Monday before buying something else because of a cheaper price tag, if that is part of your decision making on which one to get. Whichever you decide, welcome to the club.

However, there is the Magic Chef from Home Depot. $54.00, free shipping or pickup if you have a HD near you. Stainless steel inner pot just like the IP. I just bought myself one (and the pots are interchangeable if you already have an IP) and one for my son for Christmas. Everyone who has used the Magic Chef says they love it. It also has a yogurt function, unlike some of the other less expensive brands.

Ok, I'll wait and see what's on sale! Hopefully the Instant Pot will go on sale this weekend! Thanks everyone!

I used my IP tonight to "boil" my eggs for deviled eggs and "boil" my potatoes for mashed potatoes. That thing is a dream! I love it! The egg shells practically fall off after you crack the shell a bit and the potatoes... all I had to do was peel and rinse and dropped them whole into the IP. Added some water and walked away. No chopping into small pieces and no boiling over on the stove (because that always used to happen to me...).

According to the IP FB page there's rumor that a BF Instant Pot deal via Amazon is likely. Waiting for details. I would love to have two!

Manual/high for 13 minutes. 7 minutes natural pressure release and then I released the rest of the pressure manually.
