We're, as usual, going overboard. This year, we're keeping it very low key as Christmas promises to be crazy. It'll be me, dh, dd and my assistant. Nonetheless, we are having. baked brie, hummus and tapanade with crackers turkey oyster dressing mashed potatoes candied sweet potatoes corn pudding green bean casserole roasted brussel sprouts and butternut squash with cranberries, maple syrup and pecans rolls pumpkin struessel pie apple crisp wine, soda and coffee DH and I will be eating leftovers for two weeks at least. ETA...cranberry ice (never had it but my assistant is making it and it sounds yummy)

Check your hummus if it's store bought! Sabra has a recall going on.

I got the Hummus that Wegman's makes but thanks for the caution. I usually do buy Sabra.

Appetisers: pizza rolls, li' smokies wrapped in crescent roll strips, chips and dip
Dinner: Turkey, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts, old-fashioned green beans, corn on the cob, gravy, cranberry from the tin, cranberry jello salad, stuffing, and crescent rolls. Possibly homemade creamed corn if we don't end up going to niece's on Fri.
Dessert: DH picked up a Bundt cake at Publix today - I'll probably make a pie or cranberry squares also if we don't travel Fri.

we're doing homemade lasagna since the kids can't be here and we're currently far away from both sides of extended family. Hoping to do a big turkey dinner around Christmas. This year is turning into a reverse of the usual holiday meals for us. Christmas Eve dinner has always been a big Italian or Mexican meal, with the Turkey dinner at Thanksgiving.
It's a weird year in a lot of ways. I'm kind of ready to see the last of 2016.
Your dinner and leftovers sound really good.

Oh, I forgot to ask this. Twice now I've seen people mention pumpkin struessel pie. I've never had it or even seen it served. Can someone hook me up with a good recipe?

In remembrance of my dad, who always said he'd be much more thankful to see a lobster on his plate than a slab of turkey:
Lobster salad sourdough bread homemade apple pie (I only make this once or twice a year, I'd eat them 3 meals a day if I made them more often) Champagne
Here's to my Dad, I know he'll be smiling down on us.

This year it is meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Everyone is on board except for my husband. Yet, he isn't willing to do the work of the traditional meal. So, meatloaf it is.

You can not have a big dinner without one or both!

For appetizers/lunch we are having a charcuterie board (cheese, pickles, meats, crackers, etc.) and bacon wrapped, almond stuffed dates. The main meal: - turkey
- bread stuffing
- mashed potatoes
- gravy
- ginger glazed carrots
- sauteed brussel sprouts with pancetta & onions
- cranberry sauce
Dessert is a gingersnap crust pumpkin cheesecake with fresh whipped cream and caramel sauce.

We aren't hosting so I don't know the full menu, but I do know the following will be there:
Turkey Breast Ham Mashed Potatoes Stuffing Rolls Cranberry Sauce 2 varieties of sweet potatoes Some sort of salad
Pumpkin pie Apple pie Coconut creme pie Chocolate Cream pie Cheesecake Lemon Torte 2 varieties of cookies
I'm sure there will be more. SIL invited a few, then it ballooned out of control and now she has 30 coming. It looks like dessert is at least well covered.

I'm hosting 10 adults, a 3 year old and a 4 month old. But it could be 12 adults if the "strays" show up.
Smoked Turkey Spiral Ham Mashed Potatoes and Gravy Candied Yams Dressing Vegetable (I'm not making it, so I don't know what it is but I am prepared with frozen corn if I need to) Rolls ETA: cranberry sauce
Pumpkin and Chocolate pies Sour Cream Apple Squares Walnut Cookies
What is glaringly missing are appetizers and a green salad. We are going without appetizers this year. Everyone fills up on appetizers and is not hungry for dinner so they've been cut. And the salad, well {shrug} no salad this year and if anyone complains they can host next year!
