1. I don't have Netflix and know nothing about it. 2. I just started Gilmore a Girls season 4 (never watched the series the first time around), so I not going to want to watch the new episodes now....wish me luck avoiding spoilers!!
What (if any) options will I have to watch them in maybe a couple of months? Does Netlfix release their productions to any other services? Or will I have to join Netflix just to watch them?
Thanks, I just have basic cable and a fire stick...so I'm fairly TV illiterate.

If they don't still do that, find out what their shortest membership time is and then use the opportunity to binge some other series. Season 4 is one of my favorite seasons, so enjoy. In preparation for the revival, I've been watching the first and last episodes of each season. Today I got to Season 4 and mixed in some extra episodes. Not looking forward to Seasons 6 or 7. (They're not awful, but they're nobody's favorites.)

So far I have not heard of Netflix releasing their originals in another format or to another service. They do have a free trial though so you can always sign up for that and cancel before the trial time is up. There's no contract so if you go over the free trial you can still cancel whenever you want.

I'd watch the old series via DVD's from the library (ETA assuming you have a DVD player*) and take out a trial membership when the new series is released on Netflix. Netflix original shows are released on DVD although I don't know what the time lag between release for streaming and DVD. As an example, my library has the first three seasons of Orange is the New Black, but not Season 4 that dropped June 2016. *if you don't have a DVD player already, I'd pay for a Netflix subscription

I was hoping to avoid the Netflix trial subscription, but it sounds like that's going to be my only option. Thank you!

I just finished watching the series last week in preparation of this. I watched it off and on in the early days and then stopped. I loved it as I rediscovered it. Can't wait for the release tomorrow.
