We got word this morning (as I was driving DS to school) that an 18 year old girl had been killed in a car accident last night. She just finished high school in June. Her car was in a head on collision with a transport truck. No real details yet, other than weather is looking to be a factor. It had snowed last night and there was ice. The road it was on is notorious for bad winter accidents. Police have said it amounts to one death a month in the winter.
And then I just got a text from a friend - one of our Grade 9 girls was hit by a car and killed this evening in the next city.
SO sad for their families.
And in a Facebook post about the first girl, some jackass posted "it was a fucking Gibson truck" - WTH? What does it matter who the truck company was?? I messaged the admin to delete it, but she asked me to ask him to delete it himself (She doesn't like to sensor posts). I'd just hate for a family member or friend to see that. So I sent him a message asking him to delete it. But we'll see.
Just rambling - I'm having trouble making sense of two young lives lost in as many days....
ETA - clarified the head on thing up above - I think I wasn't clear in my rambling!

I feel your pain. We got word this morning that a co-worker's son was shot and killed last night. 23 year old killed by a 26 year old after a bar fight escalated. So sad and senseless.
So sorry for your community's loss.

I'm so sorry. That is tragic. What do you man it was a head on collision with a transport?

I'm so sorry. That is tragic. What do you man it was a head on collision with a transport? I mean the car she was driving hit a transport truck head on. It is not clear if she lost control or the truck did, due to icy/snowy road conditions. Not many details have been released.

I'm so sorry. That is tragic. What do you man it was a head on collision with a transport? A transport is a semi - in Canada they're called transports. I'm so sorry, that's so much tragedy at once. I know when winter hits the road conditions can change so quickly. My heart goes out to the families.

I'm sorry. Details only really matter to the immediate family for a short while. It's the big picture that counts I a horrific way. Prays to them
And thankful for people like you focused on reality, not the sensational side of the story.

I'm so sorry for your community, and especially those families. I know what a shock senseless tragedy can be when young lives are suddenly just ended. Our community has been through that recently.
