What else can I put out there on Black Friday than: SHOPPING!!!
I love to shop in person--though truthfully not on Black Friday or Boxing Day. I prefer days when the stores are less frantic, less crowded. I love to look at items up close, feel the fabric of the clothing, heft the apples in the grocery store. I like to have the freedom to wander the isles and let the retailer give me ideas for what I really want to buy.
And a real live scrapbook store??? Heaven!!! I am truly thankful that we have a LSS in a nearby city, and more in a larger city a couple of hours away. I love the feel, the SMELL, of new paper. I love to choose cs by holding it beside the pp I plan to purchase. I love that the owners of these stores let us know what is new and will hold items I request until I can get into town. One even orders specific items for me. As I say... HEAVEN!!!
But sadly, living in a rural area, there are really not that many opportunities to shop in person, and when I do venture to a city where there are shopping options, I usually have a long list and a short day. So I am VERY grateful for the home businesses like Discovery Toys and Close to My Heart, that show me samples and provide catalogs to order from. And I am thankful for the many catalogs that are mailed to my home, full of *NEW* products! and *SPECIAL* deals! I actually read the Paper Wishes catalog from cover to cover, more than once. I put little sticky notes on the pages that have items I think I may like.
And I am thankful for the Webisodes and Blogs and YouTube videos that highlight the products that interest me. They help me sift through those sticky notes, selecting the ones more likely to please, and add items to my list for when I actually DO get into a store. And of course I am thankful for on line shopping opportunities as well. I try to limit myself there, though, still not trusting myself to really know what it is I am slapping down my credit card for...
Anyway, enjoy Black Friday! Here is my photo-less page: I really just grabbed and glued covers/ pages from some of my favorite catalogs. But I think you get the idea that I am thankful for the opportunity to SHOP!
