that is on their agenda too..medicare.. for all its faults, has the lowest admin cost in us healthcare and I think the most satisfaction. we need to raise the reinbursement rates. so more docs will participate.. but the republicans want to give profit to their buddies. mcConnell said today, that most americans don't care about lobbyists in congress.. what rock is he living under?

This must be what "the people" want. Paul Ryan is a dangerous man.

mcConnell said today, that most americans don't care about lobbyists in congress. Given the way a good portion of the vote went, sadly, I have to say I think he's correct in that assessment.

Well the silver lining to that is there WILL be a flip in the house and senate in 2 years if they go forward with it. Which should tame the trump presidency quite a bit. He can't sign what's not in his desk.
No one votes like retired people ( largest demographic to show up at the polls here )

A flip from Republican to Democrat if the Republicans don't keep the voting public happy.

You want to fix SS and Medicare? Scrap the cap. You know that if you make < $118,500 you pay for SS on 100% of your salary. If you make over that amount, you only pay it only on your salary up to the amount. So if you're a typical CEO earning $21 million, you pay SS on only 1/2 of 1% of your earnings. Tell me the rich don't buy and pay for the laws that suit them and the rest of us are too lazy to protest it.

I still think they are playing with Fire. Or maybe hoping. I'm counting on the midterm election to do what it's supposed to do and curtail what needs to be curtailed. Then again Trump could veto their efforts and make himself out a hero. At which point there would be no stopping him. Except who would he have left to play with then? I continue to think if Andrew Johnson and his impeachment and near removal from office. History is an interesting thing.
