I need to replace my non-stick pans and I was wondering how good the ceramic pans are. Do you have any and do you like them? If you like them what is the brand and where did you purchase it?
Thanks!

I have tried several nonsticks and keep coming back to my cast iron. A well-seasoned cast iron beats all the non-sticks I have tried. And they last forever. Mine is almost 100 years old.

If you have to shop for one, it's worth the "antique" price to get a good Wagner or Griswold cast iron. I avoid cooing acidic foods like tomatoes, but other people don't if they're seasoned enough.

I've had good results with some Tefal frypans but the one that have held up the best are my Le Creuset pans which mostly date from the 90s.

Another cast iron fan. I don't even own a nonstick pan. And I do cook acidic foods in them. Mine are all 40+ years old and well seasoned though. If you don't want to use cast iron, then I recommend the Le Creuset brand. All the positives of a cast iron pan with the coating. Save

@**GypsyGirl** maybe I need to give tomatoes another try. I had a risotto disaster decades ago and haven't taken the chance since! LoL and now that I've realized how long it's been, I feel highly unadventurous for not risking a___ tomato? I use Le Crueset too, but even it's ancient now.

I have three ceramic fry pans and absolutely love them! Best non-stick pans I've ever used in my 50+ years of cooking. I don't have any ceramic pots yet but fully plan to get some. My ddil does though, and she swears by them. I believe some of hers are Cuisinart. I got mine from Food Network - 10" and 12" FN pans, and an 8" Trisha Yearwood pan.

I had one ceramic frying pan and was not really happy with it. It was the GreenPan brand. I didn't like the heat distribution in it and never felt like it really seared a good crust on meats.
My cookware is a combination of Cuisinart multiclad stainless, some of the older commercial Calphalon, and cast iron in several sizes. I don't find any one to be perfect for all recipes -- different foods require different cookware.

We have a Green Pan we got a few months ago and really like it. Nothing sticks to that pan ever!

Another cast iron user. I have one small cast iron pan you can flip eggs in it's that non stick. I'll never use anything other than cast iron.

Once I switched to a whole foods, plant based diet (which also requires no oil) I searched for new pans that I could cook with since I couldn't use olive oil or butter in my cooking anymore. I searched through many different ceramic pans-read the reviews, and ultimately decided from what I'd read that while they worked great for awhile, they didn't last. Eventually things started sticking while using them (according to the reviews).
I have a great stainless steel set I've had for years, but again without being able to use olive oil (or any kind of oil) everything stuck to those pans.
I ended up buying a T-fal pan because another vegan Pea here suggested it. I love that pan! It's not ceramic, but nothing sticks to it! I can saute vegetables in it without oil, I just use a tiny bit of water. When I make (or rather heat up frozen Beast Burgers) which are a substitute vegan hamburger patty I just plop them right in the pan. No sticking ever.
There are two types available for sale. One type has riveted handles, one does not. In my experience I bought one pan of the cheaper version and already the handle is shaky on it. I plan to replace it and buy the whole set eventually with the riveted handles. They have them on Amazon.

I had a set of Cuisinart ceramic pans for about four months and had to throw the skillets away because everything stuck to them. We replaced them with Circulon and I've been happy. My favorite pan - my grandmothers cast iron skillet but that sucker is HEAVY!!!

My problem with cast iron is that they are so heavy. I have had some carpal tunnel and shoulder issues and heavy things like cast iron don't work so well with those problems.

I have been looking at them, but can only find ones made in china. I am not fond buying made in china cookware.

Love my cast iron and Le Creuset. Also have a good set of all-clad stainless pans (no non-stick stuff).
