I can't see what I'm ordering. Sometimes I have to look at more than 1 website to be able to get a decent picture of the product. Even the enlarged pictures aren't large enough to show the detail. I swear if I could find a site that had really good product photos I probably would buy from them all the time.

So many of the pics are tiny or blurry and there's not a detailed description of the item(s).

Seeing and being able to touch is so worth more. I was recently able to travel to a store I normally just buy online from was so awesome to see the store itself. I spent way more than I intended. And the samples seeing the product in use really helps too.

And the samples seeing the product in use really helps too. I'm also more likely to buy things in person that I normally wouldn't buy simply because it's there. I'm in sales and once someone actually picks it up it's generally accepted that they're buying it! lol of course I'm not selling dollar sheets of paper. I have guys that keep their hands in their pockets just so they won't touch the tools lol

I buy more when I can see what I'm buying, or when a place has a blanket free shipping amount. I wanted to get myself the Memory Misti, and finally decided I'd buy it despite my reservations and lack of confidence in the company to back up their product. I thought maybe over Black Friday someone would have a small sale with free shipping, but alas, no. Scrapbook.com had the Misti, but the only discount was a $10 off coupon over $70, and it was going to cost me $10.99 to ship. I had other things in my cart as well, but meh, if the coupon doesn't even cover postage on my order why bother? It's probably a good thing, though, lol...I didn't buy something I might regret later!
It specifically drives me nuts to buy die-cuts or ephemera packs that have a lot of different designs. Most packs have all the designs on the back, but online retailers rarely put them on the site. Then I have to google the item, and hunt through several sites to find more blurry incomplete photos. A lot of times I don't make it back to the site I had planned to buy from because another site tempts me in, or Amazon has it with free shipping...and I don't have to buy anything but the one item I want that way. One site I use gives videos instead of pics--but honestly, I really hate wading through a show video hoping to catch a partial glimpse of the contents, when all they have to do is scan the back.

I have this thing about white vs. cream in patterned paper. And it's just about impossible to tell online.

I swear if I could find a site that had really good product photos I probably would buy from them all the time. Unfortunately, the images they use are most likely provided by the manufacturer, not the webstore. They could take their own photos, but that would be very time consuming, and probably not worth that to them. We were always asked to provide the images, and the companies do not want the files to be big/clear enough for a consumer to copy, and print themselves.

Ugh, it is so annoying isn't it? Many times I just don't buy the item. What I've found helpful iss going to Scrapbook.com. A lot of the times they have a video of the product line. Sometimes the video is so bad it induces car sickness but it's better than nothing.

I feel the same way about ordering scrap stuff on-line. That's what I really miss about Two Peas. I loved the warehouse walk videos, the CHA videos done by Jamie and the Garden Girls videos. Between all three of those I always felt like I had a pretty good idea of what the product was like. The downside was I would go to order the product and it would be sold out.

Though I agree with all of you, I do like online because I can see one item at a time. though some sites are pretty cluttered. I like not having to go to a store and all we have in our area is M's and J's.

What really bothers me is that the colors aren't always true. I recently bought a set of paper I thought had vivid reds and blues. When I got it all the colors were paler than they were in the picture on the site. I can still use them of course but I'm disappointed.

I dislike not being able to see what's in a packet,or what all the sheets are like if there's more than one in a package....or all the phrases that are on a roller stamp.....or if things come in a case, what it looks like open Im the same if I buy clothes online...I like a back view and to be able to see the tops of jeans and skirts, not just with a T shirt over the top fussy, fussy, fussy!

Being able to see and pick up also makes me buy more because many times I'll see something online and think it's not to my taste or colors or whatever and in person it's super cute.
If I'm interested in a collection, I might go search youtube for the collection. Sometimes you'll find someone has already bought the item and took it out of the package to show off to others.

And I loved how products from peoples projects could be linked to their gallery posts making it easy to find. But like you said downside is it was so often sold out! I have too often bought paper on line thinking I'd like it, but then hated it in person!

I have no other choice than to buy online. There aren't any scrapbooking stores in Portugal, and the few crafty stores that sell some SB stuff only have ugly out-dated things which aren't my style at all. I am lucky there's a very good online store in Spain that I always order from.
