Why do the female reindeer have boobs? Like boobs between their front 'legs' ( arms ) like humans might? Rather than udders?
Very disturbing
Why is Blitzen so obnoxious and mean!
Never saw this before but it's bizarre I don't think I like it. But DH is watching it so I'm stuck

i got sucked in.... It was so stupid though. It was original to the UK. At some point it started being shown here and eventually it was dubbed with American voices. Yes, I researched it, lol. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbie_the_ReindeerI think it was meant for adults.

Mind, I know nothing more than what's been on this thread..... but it doesn't look any different from a million other cartoons to me. I'm not a big cartoon fan, so maybe I'm just missing it.

It was directed by a director at Aardman and some of the artists from Aardman worked on it as well. I love Aardman's tv shows and movies. They all have lots of adult jokes. As far as boobs and such, all the animals in the Aardman universe are very anthropomorphic. Plus, reindeer don't have udders like cows, anyway.

Reindeer have udders similar to goats, though not as large but definitely in the same place. But besides that, the whole thing was odd. I'm surprised I usually like British humor perhaps it was lost some how in translation. We decided this generation was screwed on Christmas shows. Lol

We decided this generation was screwed on Christmas shows. Lol Stick to the classics. Can't go wrong with Charlie Brown, Rudolph, Frosty..... all the goodies from the '60's/70's.

Another piece of trivia… Apparently all of Santas reindeer are females. Male reindeer's lose their antlers in December after breeding season. It makes sense, who wants to carry around all that extra weight when food is scarce in the winter . The females keep theirs until after calving season usually losing them around April. Perhaps the antlers give them a little bit more protection when they're bulky and not so agile during pregnancy

LOL this thread reminds me of my reaction to "Barnyard" when I took my kids to see it many years ago. Otis the bull/steer (it was a children's movie, so they didn't really get into the specifics other than he was male) had an udder! And he walked upright on his hind legs, so the udder was just hanging out there in plain, unavoidable view. Now, I understand that you probably wouldn't want male genitalia prominently displayed front and center in a movie marketed for children, but why would you replace it with an UDDER? I have issues with scientifically inaccurate children's animated movies. I would rather have the animated bovine wear pants than have kids thinking that male cattle have udders.

ohhhh Barnyard drove us CRAZY!!! that bull having an udder, pretty much ruined the whole movie---we live on a working dairy and beef farm so yeah it was a big deal to is that the BULL has an udder..
as for the reindeer having boobs up by their front legs/arms.. yeah thats annoying too. and yes reindeer do have udders. all deer do. some cultures even milk reindeer.
