Why does no one bag on kmart? Around here, walmart isn't all that bad generally, but Kmart is like walking into the thunderdome! We stopped by today because we're looking for specific size of tumblers (glasses) and can't find them anywhere. It was just... wow.

I think it's because WM is national. Kmart is now regional. There haven't been any in our area since I was a kid. My kids have never heard of Kmart. A lot of young people wouldn't even know what it is.

Our local Kmart closed about 8 years ago. I didn't know there were any around open.

Our Kmart is a ghost town. I have absolutely no idea how they stay in business. The only reason I have been there at all in the last several decades is that sometimes at Christmas I find items from people's wishlist online and have it shipped to their store for free.

I love kmart and shop there a lot when we are back in butte.
I have bought shirts there that Fred Meyer carries for $20-$39 more.

All but one of the Kmart stores around here closed years ago, and the one that (I think) remains is in a rough neighborhood so I couldn't tell you who shops there.

KMart left my area in SE, Texas about 20 years ago. They left Lubbock this year. According to my son, they hadn't updated their stock in years. (As judged by their Lego selection. ) So, yeah. Not too much left to make fun of.

I wasn't thinking this about Kohls earlier in the week. Ours might as well organized as a flea market, it's not dirty just chaotic. And the staff is clueless.

My first thought was....people stopped going to Kmart, because they never seem to have more than one checker. Ever. No matter which Kmart I went to. That is why I stopped shopping there. That and the prices are higher.

Kmart has grown on me over the years. I had not been in one in a decade or more until I moved to our current location. Now I go in there all the time. Yes, it is chaotic and random. The customers are characters and the cashiers are nowhere to be found...but I love the Adama Levine clothing line and the double coupon days. They sometimes have great deals on toys too. And there is Layaway! When the kids were young this was a lifesaver.
Our local store has a Little Caesar's pizza inside it...NOT ONCE have they had a hot fresh pizza ready! lol

Not too much left to make fun of. I rememeber the Beaumont one was around when I was in HS (98-02) because my friend worked there and I would always think "this place is dirty for a store that never gets any customers" lol

We still have a Kmart and I mostly use it for lay-a-way. It was once a super Kmart but they shut down the grocery side a few years back. They still carry a small selection of groceries but I have never bought any there. When they put their clothes on clearance, they mark the prices way down. DD got a pair of white jeans for her job for $3.00. She was quite happy.
Our Kmart usually has about 2 or 3 cashiers. Lay-a-way rarely has anyone back there. Usually it is a wait for someone to show up. The store is clean and usually well stocked. I see more crazy dressed at one of our Walmarts than I ever do at Kmart.

I'm not sure how ours is. I am pretty sure that there is one on the other side of town, but since I can get to pretty much every other store in a less than 10 minute drive, Kmart has been a conscious destination for me in years. Last time I was there though it wasn't awful-it was clean, had what I was looking for and the staff was nice enough. It was probably 5 years or more ago though. I can get to Target and Walmart faster and that is generally where I end up.
I think I stopped going about the time that they stopped carrying all the 'celebrity' endorsed products. Love her or hate her, I did really like Martha Stewart's cookware and linens that Kmart carried.

We still have a K-mart in town, but I can't recall the last time I was in there. I recall it being rather shabby and poorly stocked. It always amazes me that it remains open with all the proliferation of Family Dollars and Dollar Generals in our area.

We don't have a K-Mart around any longer.
I think you can say people of almost anywhere. I spent the entire day at the Mall of America yesterday. There were a number of oddballs! My favorite was at B&BW, picture 6" heels, a skirt that was WAYYYY too short and tight, and large thighs...
Slight hijack...We just got our first Tim Hortons in the MOA and the line was crazy. You'd think we'd never seen a donut before.
