I haven't been liking my Studio Calico documenter kit the past few months, but in the past, I have loved it. Is there a kit that is more comparable to SC out there?

Have you looked into citrus twist kits? I sub to the scrapbook kit but I've bought PL kits as a one off and they are always jam packed full. Lots of exclusive designs mixed with the latest releases. And a good price point. You always get more than your money's worth. www.citrustwistkits.com/kits.php

There are a few around. Hip Kit has a PL type kit, as does Gossamer Blue, Cocoa Daisy has the Day in the Life kit, Kelly Purkey does a monthly kit which has a stamp, cards and a few extras but which would probably need supplementing.

I like Cocoa Daisy for PL cards/kit. They have the best one, in my opinion.

hi, emilyotr! We have had this thread pop up a few times (I've asked this exact same question!) and people have offered suggestions like Cocoa Daisy and Hip Kit and Citrus Twist. While those are great values, I personally didn't find that they fit my style. A suggestion that came up that I liked most was to check out the digital papers on The Lilypad. There is a monthly kit here: the-lilypad.com/store/Memory-Pockets-Monthly/ and then supplement with orders for embellishments from whatever store strikes your fancy (if you find something you like in the SC kit, chances are you can find a dupe- we even had a thread here about where to find dupes). I think you'll find you like the style of the digi kits because a lot of those designers are ones that SC used for their designs! Good luck!

Looking at all the ones you listed, I would say Gossamer Blue is the closest to a Studio Calico style. Especially with those chipboard shapes in the August and November kit. It would be nice if those were in future kits. I might consider them. Price is pretty good as well. would be curious to know what the cards are like in person. I don't like cheap and flimsy for cards.

maryjo I subbed to the GB a couple of years back. The cards were not ultra thick but I don't remember them as being really flimsy either.

It's not like SC's cards are as good quality lately. I'm liking the look of the PL kits right now. Especially with the addition of the chipboard.

I've seen a lot of people do PL with the Felicity Jane kit as well!
