I need to get some jewelry insured. I have some insurance now but it won't be enough (I'm getting a new piece in a week or so). The jeweler recommends jewelers mutual but It has so/so reviews and also does not pay full insured value. So if I have a piece of jewelry I'm paying $10k in insurance on and lose it, they'll pay to remake the piece. So if the new piece only costs $7k, that's all I get. So I'm paying for insurance on $10k but only getting $7k value.
I have it with our homeowners right now and it'll be pretty expensive with the jump. Suggestions?

The only jewelry I have insured is my wedding and engagement rings and they are insured as part of our homeowners policy.

I have a rider to my homeowner policy for jewelry. Very reasonable rate.

I have a separate rider on our homeowner's insurance. I had all pieces appraised and have the rider priced at full replacement value. When I add a new piece, I send the appraisal notification to our agent and he adds it to the existing rider.
