DH wants to try brewing his own beer at home. He has been looking at home brew kits, but is working on another project so this has been put on hold. I am thinking of getting him a kit for Christmas, but have no idea where to start or what to get. I want one that will have everything he needs.
I could really use some help here. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any ideas, suggestions etc? As always, looking for a deal if possible.
TIA

If you don't have any access to a local home brew supply store, I recommend northernbrewer.com.
DH brews his own and I've found kits as gifts for him there, back when he was first learning (that's what makes a kit a nice idea for a beginner!).

I agree with @z*g try a local place. They are really helpful for anyone getting started.

If you don't have a local shop, try Brooklyn Brew Shop online. They are great. They sell complete kits for brewing your own beer. I bought my husband 2-3 kits last year, and he looooves them! They were relatively easy to brew, and pretty much everything you need is in the box (except the strainer, we had to get a fine mesh strainer. No biggie. Oh and the bottles and caps). And then if he likes it, they sell refill kits which are just the ingredients so he can make more!
Eta: they are having an up to 60% off sale right now. And also, I have to mention that their customer service is awesome! My husband ordered a few sets of their tasting glasses for his birthday this past year. About half showed up broken. He emailed them to let them know about his problem. No questions asked, no photos required, they shipped out 3 more full sets of glasses to replace the broken ones. We offered to send back the other non broken ones but they said to keep them all!
