Hi, Peas,
Please give me some recs for a set of "good" make-up brushes. They don't have to be the most expensive, but some that are fairly soft, won't shed and will last. I have been researching reviews of some well-known brands, but I need the first-hand expertise of the Peas on this.
Thanks, jamh

For more drugstore priced brushes, I really like Real Techniques. For more pricy brushes, I love the IT Cosmetics brushes. Both are available at Ulta.

I use e.l.f. brushes from Wal-Mart. They were not expensive at all and I've been using them for over a year with no shedding and no problems.

I have some more expensive name brand brushes (Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, etc) and I always go back to my Real Techniques. My favorite is the expert face brush. I've even seen them at Walmart.

I love Bare Minerals and It brushes. I really wouldn't buy a set. I would buy individually what you need.

During a quick stop to pick up a birthday card earlier this week, I noticed Target had an entire endcap filled with various brands & sizes of makeup brush sets.

I have used the e.l.f. brand at Target and been pleasantly surprised with how long they last.

IT cosmetics - their brush cleaner along with their brushes has kept my brushes nearly new.

I realized that my make-up skills were being hindered by my poor brush selection but I was overwhelmed when I went to Sephora (both by price and selection). I bought a set of Real Techniques brushes and watched a couple of their YouTube videos and was totally impressed with the outcome.

I've been using the Eco Tools brushes for years and love them. I needed to replace a few of them and am trying the IT brushes. I still prefer the Eco Tools brushes for my eye makeup, but the face brushes from IT are lovely.

This is first I've heard about Real Technique brushes. The price point is nice.
I've been using MAC brushes and they have kept their bristles and shape for over 8 years. I wash them with baby soap every 2-3 weeks without problems. I recently bought some IT Cosmetic brushes and they are very soft, too.

My It brushes are my favorite. Real techniques and Moda are also great. Our Walmart sells Moda.

I have quite the collection of brushes (one of my makeup weaknesses): Sigma, MAC, Revolution by Royal & Langnickel, Real Techniques etc. But the ones I seem to keep going back to are Zoeva. They have the perfect balance between firm & soft, never any problems with shedding and last for ages.

I've started converting to IT makeup brushes. I love them!
I have used Mac in the past, and I don't feel like they were worth the cost in considering how long they lasted before hairs started coming out.
