Can I cook in it?
I am at my old house and the only large pot I have is the canner. Can I boil my turkey bones in it?
*****update*****
I bought 4 extra turkeys before thanksgiving. 2 emergency turkeys and 2 to breakdown. I put the 2 breakdown turkeys in the frig at our old house, and have been waiting for them to thaw!?!! OMG they still have ice in them
I was going to take them to our new house, but I need to wait for some packages, so I decided to wait for them here at old house.
And once I got the first one apart , I realized that I have no pots at this house except the water bath canner.
Now if one of you had said no I could not use, I would be the proud new owner of one those huge pots ( plus a couple of the other pots and the wooden paddle that I have been eyeing ) you find at the Mexican stores! So my husband thanks you!
Btw. These are 20 pound turkeys and i barely got anything off them! Good thing they were cheap

I have no advice. I just learned something new though. I've never heard of a water bath canner

Yes, it's made to boil water in. Is there a reason you're questioning it?

Yes, it's made to boil water in. Is there a reason you're questioning it? I have never used it as a stock pot. It is the just the plain, cheap black one. So it would be okay?

It should be just fine, it's made for boiling things for extended periods of time.

Sure, it's just a big enamel pot.

Thank you so much!
And the turkey fits in so much better than my other stock pots.
