So I'm not very tech savvy it seems. I've downloaded some files from Just nick and the Cut Shoppe. If the file is a jpeg or png I don't know how to open it in Silhouette. I click on the file and I can see in the Windows Photo Viewer but what the heck do I do with that?  Paper Issues makes it so easy because their files are Silhouette and it opens up that way. Help please! |

Check out the Silhouette blog. They have some great tutorials.
Are you opening the file in Silhouette? It sounds like you are just viewing the file while NOT being in the actual silhouette program.

Help please! I always have to tell my view finder to "open all files" because it defaults to just Cameo files. Then it should open in a new window for you in the software. Once you're there, it'll depend on what type of photo it is since you can trace your own. If it's already the outline and ready to be cut, you should be good to go. Otherwise, you have a slew of other things to do.  |

If you open the PNG file, you can use the trace function in silhouette to trace the design to get the cut lines. here is a video i made on my youtube - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz4XQ_GaPm4 |

What a dodo I am! I was fooling around with this late last night and apparently half asleep. I woke this morning and the light bulb went off! thanks for your help everyone!
