My parents are 86 and 89 and not in the best of health. I am looking for some kind of monthly delivery for them to look forward to! Probably more for my mom, than dad. "Amazing Clubs" has a breakfast of the month and Plow and Hearth has flower bulbs.
Any experience or ideas? Thanks in advance!

I can say i do not recommend Harry and David, for the past several years I've gotten pears and they've all rotten before they should, they do replace them but it's a pain to call and deal with it and often the second box goes off. I would check them incessantly so it's not my lack of attention, I was told it's because the fruit gets frozen at some point during delivery, but i live in San Diego so it's not on my end. I finally asked my sister to stop sending them.

I know someone who is doing a "book of the month" club for her mom. She is just going to order a book every month from her Amazon account and have it sent to her mom. That might be a nice thing if they like to read?

If they still like a sweet treat, try this place. I've used them and the cookies were great. They even offer sugar-free and gluten-free. www.cheryls.com/?flws_rd=1

How about putting some of their favorite items/groceries on auto delivery through amazon?

If they like tea, there are several tea of the month clubs. I gifted a subscription to Adagio that was well received, but it ended up being more tea than they usually drank. I subscribe to Graze snacks(<-referral link), and you can arrange to have the snack box sent monthly and customize what to include (more like customize what not to include).

SOCKS!!!!!!!
Seriously! I work at an assisted living facility and 2 points: older folks get cold easily and socks go missing in the laundry with surprising regularity.
care packages with : Kleenex. Paper Towels. Toilet Paper. Gum. Candy. Mints. Their favorite snack food (potato chips, pretzels etc) Pens. Word Find Books (large print). Batteries for hearing aids (if they wear them). Glasses cleaning kits. Newspaper and/or magazine subscriptions. Pictures or videos of relatives that live far away.
It's often harder for elderly folks to go out shopping so sending them a "grocery run" of cookies, coffee, light bulbs, toothbrushes (and paste), etc can really perk them up.

I have finally accepted the fact that I am never going to be thin so I vote for some kind of a dessert of the month club. It is suppose to be a treat - right?

This thread just makes me miss Everbody Loves Raymond, and Marie's Glorious overreaction to Fruit of the Month Club.

DHs 92 yr old aunt loves to order from the sunnyland farms catalog. They have the most delicious, soft, moist, dried apricots, pears and other fruits. Not sure if there's a subscription club option but it would be worth checking out if you're looking for edibles.
