I've just spent the last hour watching flash mobs on YouTube. Have you ever seen one for real? And are there any on YouTube that you love, and want to let the rest of us in on? Several of the ones I watched tonight were performances of Ode To Joy, in various European cities. I think the one in Sabadell was the first, and it always gives me a tingle to watch it.

There's a Deck the Halls one at a mall that I love.

Thanks for the link... I love the US Air Force ones, too. Off to enjoy.

My favorite is Hallelujah at the Macy's in Philly. It's the old Wannamaker building and has an organ in the store. The video makes it sound like it was so majestic when they sang.
I also like this food court one because I like how everyone was blended in so well that you didn't know who was going to start singing next.
I also really like this one:
Every year there is a flash mob that does Hallelujah at the Lancaster Market but video I've seen from it looks like a bunch of people show up and they all stick together and it's easy to tell that they are going to be doing something.
I've never seen this one before but it's pretty good.
Now you got me stuck on watching flash mob videos. Found this one, too. It's good if you like Bolero.

I have never seen one for real. This is one of my favorite proposal ones. When I first watched it, I thought wow he learned to dance for his flashmob, but it turns out the whole group in the same dance company. But they did have to keep the practice hidden from the girl. They are married already, and the last name is Love. How cool is that?

I have never witnessed a live flash mob.

Flash mobs have happened around campus although in the last few years they seemed to have died out as a trend. I've been both a viewer and a participant in them.

I was in one! When the musical version of Flashdance was on its tour, they recruited the local improv group to do a Flashdance flash mob at the local mall. I was on the improv mailing list so I signed up and went to rehearsals. It was fun and nothing as great as the ones posted, but just to be in one was fun. Here it is. Be gentle, only the tank top girls are actual dancers!

I love watching all of these! I was in a pretty small one that we did for a beloved coworker who was leaving. I may have been the weakest link in it, to be honest and it was so fun. It was at her going away party with 150+ people. There were only around 20 of us and it was definitely a surprise. My favorite part was when her two young kids joined in. They didn't practice with us, but they picked it up really quick and it was so cute. I'm crying just thinking about it. She was a great leader here and I miss her so much! I'm going to watch more of these to compose myself.

I love them, I was in one at a fund raiser for my daughters school. It was most of the teachers and then those of us who had been organizing the fund raiser. We had a blast. We just used the choreography to the Black Eyed pea's I Gotta a Feelin. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGPSO5hUlpUThe funny thing is that when the music started, we all turned to the person we were randomly standing next too and said, "I love the Black Eyed Peas". I was standing next to my friend Lisa, she said, this isn't the Black Eyed Peas... and I laughed and said yes it is. Come dance with me.!! She did and the whole song kept insisting it was not them~!!!

Our choir just did one at the mall last night singing the Hallelujah Chorus. Technically not a "flash mob" but still cute for the holidays. Choir Choir Choir
