My dd had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed last Thur. and she seems to be healing good. The swelling has gone down for the most part, she has a pale yellow bruise on both sides of cheeks and she only took one Ibuprofen this morning, so pain is also not really a factor. She's been eating all the right foods, we've done the ice and tonight started some heat because her jaw bones are so tight. She can only open her mouth so far before it hurts so eating is really tough still. She can talk and smile but just can't really open very wide. She has a checkup appointment this Friday but I'm thinking of calling tomorrow just in case something is not right. We've done some massage on that area as well. We've googled it too. Anyone have any tips or tricks? I feel bad for her. Thanks so much.

My dd had her wisdom teeth out last year and was told to chew gum if she felt her jaw was tight. It did help her, but I wouldn't hesitate to call the oral surgeon's office.

All sounds pretty typical, particularly if any bone had to be drilled away.

I had mine taken out a few months ago. I had very little pain but it took a good four weeks until I could open my jaw fully without any stiffness or pain.
My surgeon said it was fairly normal and just suggested gentle stretching after a couple of weeks. I don't think I would push it since her extraction was just last week- but just doing some gentle jaw stretching (Opening as much as she can handle and holding it for 30 seconds) will slowly help.

When I had my wisdom teeth out, while my mouth was still numb, I bit the inside of my mouth. It got infected (I wondered what that drainage was) and couldn't open my mouth wide enough to get a spoon in- the bowl of the spoon wouldn't fit past my teeth. I just figured it was a result of the procedure and would take care of itself in time. At the two-week checkup, it turns out it was lockjaw as a result of the infection I didn't know I had. The doctor had to pry my mouth open to check my stitches. I was on antibiotics for the infection and it went away.
I'd at least call and see what the doctor says- they would know if your DD's issue is normal or not.

I had mine out as a teenager. It took a good month before I could fully open my jaw all the way. I think it's pretty normal.

From my own experience back when we rode dinosaurs to school, that is pretty typical. After a week, I still didn't want to open my mouth very much and it took some more time for full mobility to return.

My DD had hers out last Wednesday. It was a straight pull, nothing impacted, just no room for them at all. She was only under for half an hour or so.
It was Saturday before she could open her mouth very far, and by Sunday she could open it all the way. She had minimal swelling and no bruising at all.
I'd call to be safe, but if they were doing more work than they did on my DD, I'd say having your mouth opened super wide while you were under would certainly leave you super sore for a while. Especially if they had to cut any bone to get them out.

You say she only took one ibuprofen yesterday morning, because pain isn't really an issue. But ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, and so can help even if there isn't pain. If it were my kid, I'd have her taken 2 or 3 every 6-8 hours for at least a few more days.
