I love to look at other people's scraprooms. Jennifer McGuire just posted a video on her blog and I thought you would enjoy it. There are also links to a couple of other rooms.

Holy crap- that's an intense scrap room! I'm glad she said the disclaimer at the beginning- this is my job, you don't need this much stuff! I did a little back of the napkin math on how much product is in there because I'm cheap and that stuff interests me. The drawer with her stamps in pockets in the fridge binz- 6 rows of 75 6x8 stamp sets at about $15 each comes to about $6,750. Surely she receives gratis product so not judging her on how much she spends, but imagine the retail value in that entire room! Mind boggling!
My favorite part was how she keeps her organization supplies organized and labeled. A woman after my own heart!

Kristina Werner and Kathy Racoosin also just posted scraproom videos. I haven't watched any yet. I know I'll have serious envy but hopefully I'll be able to take away some ideas for my humble little room.

I love it! I wish I had that island so I could stand and scrap. Where was her pattern paper? Thats the thing I have the hardest time organizing, did she not have any?

I am a brand new subscriber so I didn't know she did nail art too.

I've never seen any of her cards with patterned paper. She makes a lot of her own background paper with stamps and stencils. I'm not sure she has any. I wish I had an island, too.

As much as I enjoy seeing other people's craft rooms, I still love my smaller space with my much smaller stash.

Wow...beautiful! But having all that stuff would stress me out. I love having what I have, but sometimes think I scrapped faster and happier when I had less.

Her space is actually very nice and well organized, especially considering the amount of items she has to store. She made a good point about some scrapers need things in plain site. That would be me. And honestly, I would be totally overwhelmed with that much stuff. I do much better with a limited amount of dies, stamps, etc.

She had a few small things of "specialty paper". She no longer scrapbooks (at least not for public consumption) and i don't think i've ever seen her use patterned paper. Even her scrapbooking was very clean and simple.

It is a beautiful room, but I'm a little surprised Jennifer is posting this room now as they have moved. You can follow her building a similar craft space in the new house on instagram. Like her, I can't create facing a wall and have my desk facing into the room (would love enough room for an island). I'd love to have all her stamps & dies, but can't imagine having all the inks to choose from.

I think when it was filmed they weren't planning on moving yet. Or maybe they were but she had a contract or something for the filming. I do know it was filmed by a company of some sort. She probably had a lot of $$ invested in the filming of it and didn't want to waste it, and she said it was very similar to her new room, which isn't ready yet.

It's a lovely room. It must take a lot of energy to label and organize everything in there.

Sandy Allnock did a craft room tour a while back and she said she really didn't want to because of people commenting how sad they were that they couldn't afford the same. But people kept asking for it so she finally did it. She kept saying the same thing Jennifer M did-that it was her job, not everyone needs all this stuff, etc.
one thing I love about their rooms is the consistency. All same cabinets, countertops, etc. I wish I could afford to buy everything the same but I have to use what I have on hand. So everything is mismatched but I am trying to make it work anyway (still working on my room).

That's not a scrap room, that's a professional art studio/atelier for someone who works with inks, paper and stamps. At times, it even felt like a really nice niche scrap boutique (especially when I saw the wood-mounted stamps shelf). I really like Jennifer McGuire as a person and I enjoyed the way she presented her craft studio. It didn't feel show-offy at any point and there were some practical tips you could gleam and apply on a smaller scale. However, I got stressed just seeing the rows and rows and rows of clear stamps. How could a person remember everything that's in there? The island did drive me a little crazy because it seemed like there was only the one rounded off space at the end of it that would feel comfortable for me to stand and scrap at. I would keep hitting my knees and toes and just legs overall into the cabinet doors on the other sides of the island. Upon selling the house, did they take down the entire craft room and rebuild it in their new place? If not, that's a big investment that you might lose quite some cash on if you can't find a buyer who is as enthusiastic a crafter or has a hobby that requires this kind of organisation at home and is willing to pay the premium price for it. loco coco As far as I could tell, there was only the one drawer in the video featuring some Japanese pattern paper (along with gold glitter paper and vellum). I'm guessing, like others have mentioned it on this thread, that she makes her own pattern paper with all those inks and stamps. gale w Sanding and painting (and matching hardware) really does miracles to pull mismatched furniture together if you ever want a bigger scale project...

They left all of the craft room cabinets and furniture in the old house and built new. I can't even imagine what it must have cost. She said the buyer of the house was a crafter so they would be able to put the room to good use. I wonder if it factored into the cost of the house. If you go to this instagram it shows the evolution of the new craft room (along with other parts of the house): www.instagram.com/myworkinghome/she talks about the buyers in this video: www.jennifermcguireink.com/2016/06/take-5-crafty-chat.html

I don't follow closely because I'm not an intense stamper, but she' seems like someone who has a good balance. She shows just enough of her personal life to feel human but doesn't blur the lines with her public life. She hasn't tried to become a home making or style icon. I've always suspected this comes from her background, as an engineer she was ready to act like a business professional. Her new room is interesting, if love to have half the storage!
