We saw santa a few days ago and the only thing he told santa that he wanted are some pink and white football gloves. Shopping is technically done and there are no gloves bought for him (he hadn't said anything about them earlier but all three of his brothers had baseball gloves on their lists and are getting them). Would you go find the gloves that he apparently saw at a specific store or call it good and just give him what you already bought?

Unless you think DS was having a Ralphie moment and blurted out "a, a, a football!". (I mean, said gloves because he couldn't think of what he really wanted, which was the beebee gun)

My daughter announced that she wanted some silver dolphin earrings last night when we saw santa. I found some at Target today.

I would try and get it, but I am like that. If I couldn't get them, I'd tell him Santa maybe already had his sleigh packed when he asked for them.
Next year, maybe go see Santa earlier.

I would look for them. He may have been waiting specifically to tell Santa that to make sure he got them. But I also would let him know that it being so late in the season Santa may not have time to get them for him, but I'm sure he'll try...or something of that nature. That way he won't be too disappointed if he doesn't get them.

I'm a sucker - I would try to find the gloves. BUT, I would also tell DS that he didn't give Santa much notice and not to expect them. Santa has to plan ahead to get all those toys made!

Thanks. DH said not to worry about it (but he is a Scrooge, lol) but now I am second guessing. I'll stop at Dick's and see if I can find something that looks like it would work. . I'm not sure about the pink and white? Wondering if some NFL player has those?

Would you go find the gloves that he apparently saw at a specific store or call it good and just give him what you already bought? Since I budgeted a specific amount for each child (lets say $200 per child) , and all shopping is done that means I have spent that child's budget on his gifts. It would mean returning something to get the gloves. I wouldn't do it. But then, I probably wouldn't have taken the child to talk to santa at this date either.

Considering I ordered the damn microscope that he'd just mentioned last week for the first time and it was the one thing he wanted the most and I'm sure it'll be played with for all of a week.......I'm probably not the one to ask but yeah I'd try to find the gloves.

In your shoes, I would move heaven and earth to get the kid some pink and white football gloves. ETA - okay, so that's pretty much verbatim what myshelly said but we seem to be on the same page where Santa is concerned anyway, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Our boys used to wear pink during October for breast cancer awareness. You know we don't have a lot of extra money. There are a lot of wants our kids do without. But at Christmas I try to move heaven and earth to spoil them. I would totally go get the gloves if you can.

For me it would really depend. We usually have an idea of what our kids are going to ask for and we know fairly early in the season. We have also always been lead to believe that Santa doesn't always bring you exactly or only what you've asked for. Sometimes he might bring you something else he thought you would like. One year I got a saddle for my horse that I had never even thought to ask for, I probably asked for something dumb like a doll So for me it would depend on what else I've already gotten them, whether it was in the budget or not, whether it was doable in the time frame and if it was really THE one thing they wanted. But I'm fully aware that we don't use lists and wishes like most people do. For us they are likes, guidelines and ideas of what we are interested it. Of course we put things we like on them, but we don't only want things from our list (ie Rachel's birthday on Friends)

When Santa answers DD's letters, he always tells her that he will bring SOME of the things she asked for and some other things that he thinks she will like...Covers Santa's butt in these types of situations. But with that said, I would probably try to get them if I could.

My seven year old DD wrote to Santa weeks ago. I got almost everything on her list except the pot bellied pig she asked for. Told her Santa didn't bring animals only toys. Last week, we went to a function and Santa was there. She said "Since you can't bring me a pig, I'd like a tent instead!"
I was like "huh?" She had never mentioned a tent before...but Santa saw my face and said "I can't fit it with all your other gifts, maybe for your birthday?
Good Santa lol
