With January coming and lots of us going on a spending freeze, does anyone want to partake in a "what I used up in my stash" challenge. All you would have to do is list the supplies you used. No pressure or competition who did the most layouts or anything just "Today I used 5 sheets of cardstock, second go round with Thickers, cardstock to cut a title and some matching ephemera". You can list what colours or brands you used. You can be as detailed as you want. It's a just list what I used up during my diet.
If you are a planner you can say I journaled or used my _______ pens, used X stickers. Etc.
It's a fun thing. Is anyone interested in doing this weekly?

I'd love to do it on a pop-in basis.
I might not be able to post everyday, but I love the little successes of using it up.
Like last night, I finally scrapped after so much hustle and bustle and a messy room kept me from it. I used the last four stickers on a sheet I'd been working on & it felt so good to toss that empty sheet away.

Since my main goal is to use up some of the stuff in my stash rather than to restrict my spending I'd be up for a thread. I don't tend to post a lot but would happily pop in to a thread to update on my progress and celebrate the wins everyone else is making during Jan.

It's a use up your stash at your own pace. There is no contest unless you make one for yourself. You just use up or even *use* your accumulated supplies. That could be paints, paper, brads, ribbon, twine, charms, stickers, linen thread, buttons or your Cricut with whatever cartridge.
You are the boss here telling in how much or how little detail you want. It's just to go along with the No Spending January Freeze.
You don't have to scrap either. This is just to go along with what you are doing with your stuff and how it's getting used up which we all know is a great thing and then you can buy more!!!

I think this is a great idea! We can also share when we've used some tools that have been sitting around untouched (like some of my stamps I want to put to use instead of just collecting).

I'll join! Since finishing the gift albums for my sister, her three kids and my mom, I haven't scrapped only fussy cut. It hasn't even been a week, but it feels like forever! I think this will help me get scrapping again.
I have everything for my December Documented except pictures. I just need to order a few and get started. I'm hoping to use up quite a bit from my DIY kit.
Thanks!

Oooohhhh this is a fun idea!! I have been putting so much pressure on myself lately to only make the bestest and coolest layouts. While I have a lot of cool stuff, I'll never be the best or coolest kid on the block! So I am going to try and focus on making THINGS I LIKE! What a concept! Anyways, this thread is giving me permission to grab things I like and use them up to make pages I like! Will report back! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

This is a fun idea Looking forward to joining in when I get back into crafting again.
Personally, I am not on a scrapping or any other diet, but I think it's a great idea for each of us to celebrate whatever it is we are using (like stamps or art supplies or tools) or using up (like kits or sticker sheets or older stash).

That's exactly what I am getting at. Use the mists, paint with Perfect Pearls or whatever you have. Use the ribbon or washi tape but tell us that you used it. You can say I used Basic Grey Phresh and Phunky or you can say I used 5 sheets of it. At the end of the month you can come back and read all your posts and see what of your tools or supplies you used it. It might justify getting something new. I am not making any rules at all. You make the rules. It's to show that we actually craft and use our supplies. If you have a Cricut and cut a title you want to list that, too. Or your Silhouette or even your Quickutz. It is meant to be fun! If anyone has any other ideas post them here, too.

I personally get super excited when I use new purchases with my stash. I love telling whoever is around "I used this from Tulsa with that from down the street and this from my Clique kit box. I know it might seem strange to some, but I guess it's like me validating all those different purchases. And if it was from the last house (13 years ago) or before...I get even more giddy!

I think this is a great idea! We can also share when we've used some tools that have been sitting around untouched (like some of my stamps I want to put to use instead of just collecting). This is why I thought it would be an easy challenge or a motivator. Try to use the stuff we have sitting there. If you have 20 sets of CTMH stamps use a couple of them. Record what you used and share with us. It might give us ideas how to use our stash, too. I don't mean to exclude anyone on this either. This is all sorts of crafting which we have supplies sitting in our bedrooms, craft rooms, living rooms or wherever. You can colour, paint, scrap, card make, journal, plan, do altered art, whatever works for you. There are no rules for it. You can be as detailed or as basic as you want. You are the boss here!

And another thing...when I was making gift albums for the past couple of months, I stopped talking to my sister about scrapbooking because I didn't want her to know about the albums. While she doesn't scrapbook, she's willing to listen to me tell her this and that about what I've been doing. I think I MAY have talked everyone's ears off here to make up for it! It will make me very happy to ramble on about what I've used and used up! I know she got quite a ramble of scrapbooking talk today when I talked to her the first time since Christmas!

It will make me very happy to ramble on about what I've used and used up! Me too!! I have no one IRL to tell about my scrapping stuff to. Last night I was on a scrapping roll (5 layouts finished!). I used up most of the letters from 3 chipboard alphas that I've had in my stash for a few years. I mixed and matched while making titles. One I used all but the Q, so I tossed away the package and just put that Q in with another alpha. I'm also using lots of my paper from paper pads. No questioning it, just cutting right in. I need to use them while I still like them. I used some gold chevron washi, gold Stickles (well, used the rest of one bottle, and started another), some Nuvo drops, a few enamel dots, and heck, even 3 mini doilies. Used some of my most used stamps last night. A camera with a heart lens. A small alphabet that I originally bought from WM for 97 cents about 2 years ago, but somehow works so well for so many of my layouts. And a journal spot clear stamp that is just such a perfect size to work with, and has straight edges that makes it easy to cut out after stamping it. I also used my ZipeMate and a stamp & die set. LOL, I guess I am rambling about scrapping. Great thread!

I've been using scraps - yay! my scrap folders are overfull! I've also been using my stamps - used my Happy New Year stamp for the first time and used some old standbys as well - Trick or Treat, Just a Note..., Friends are flowers..., Thinking of you (all sentiment stamps except there's a flower on the friends one - and I coloured it...yay! used my OLD zig maarkers and my new-ish CK brush markers)
I've used up 3 25-pks of card blanks and am working on the 4th and last.

LavenderLayoutLady and Linda..you two are really on it! I'm using my October Afternoon Christmas scraps to fill the 6x8 pocket pages of my December Documented. Not shy about cutting a new piece as needed, also! I folded over a thick piece of red plaid vellum to use as my first page. I put vintage looking Christmas postcards they handed out at the VA on the front and back and layered up some embellishments. Never going to get through the whole diy kit, but it was fun getting started!

I scrapped another two layouts last night, and started on a third. The first layout used up two 4x6 PL cards. I wrote a different preschool song on each. I had been meaning to document those songs that my ds sung every single preschool day for a whole school year. The title and date used up twenty alphabet/number stickers. The second layout used up 91 alphabet stickers! ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/dancingbanana.gif) I did the whole journaling in small mix & match alphabet letters. Keep up the good work, ladies! I love hearing what everyone is using up.

I will post the thread tomorrow morning. This is a fun challenge. If you don't use anything that's ok, too. It's just to go along with the No Spend January challenge. Brag what you used up. It means you can feel good inside about using your stash AND you can buy more if you so wish to. What is better than that?
Have a Safe and Happy New Year's Eve Everyone!!!

Love this idea! Just came to the realization yesterday that if I would actually finish the multitude of projects I have started it would free up quite a bit of storage space in my scrap room.
So far today I've worked on 4 gift scrapbook albums from a family trip in 2013. Cropped all the pictures (around 148) for two of the books. Later today I hope to attach some of them to paper! 😀
