BTW has there been a line lately featuring health and fitness? I see some Peas are thinking of tracking their fitness journey, and what could be a better way to track it than scrapping it? PTI has a couple of stamp sets this month that are health & fitness based and a swan set, so I'm predicting swans are the next animal trend. SaveSave

This is a good thread! I have so much gold in my last 2 scrapbooks, its almost hard not to incorporate it b/c its on everything! Sometimes I think these pages will look out dated when I look back at them in a few years.
I like the idea of more greens and neutrals. I have a little girl so Im finally on the pink bandwagon and hoping it doesnt go away.

What are you hoping to see? More navy and purple.
What are you hoping to NOT see? PINK...be gone pink!!!!
What will be the new on trend item in 2017? Puffy everything. more branching out on enamels. More copper and rose gold.

To answer my own question, I'm hoping for panda bears. How about texture being the thing? Instead of glitter or foil. Glossy coatings are coming out in at least one (Easter?) line from Echo Park. I have a few lines from Imaginisce (RIP) that I really liked but found the gloss off putting and made it feel cheap (or maybe it's because I remember it from when I worked at M's 12 years ago and thought it was tacky even back then). For some reason, even though it's the same theory as embossing, it doesn't quite hit the mark for me and having it all over a paper doesn't appeal to me. The other culprit could be that even though I liked the Imaginisce lines, I found them incredibly difficult to use.

I don't know what's coming but I know what I want. I would love a general sports themed collection. I have been doing volleyball albums for years and own EVERY volleyball collection ever made. I would love a line with "All Star", "Champion" "MVP" "Great game", etc! We R Memory Keepers did one years ago, but nothing since.

Ugh, I hate glossy paper (DCWV uses it on everything), and hope this prediction is wrong. Yuck!

I hope pink does a slow death. I don't mind hot pink in little amounts, but pastel pink makes me visibly agitated. I think paper companies should do the same paper lines with a more masculine theme (no pink). I appreciate the ones that already do this. I am not yet ready to give up foxes. Or really many of the animal themes. A flamingo makes me smile even in my landlocked state. Fewer pastels and florals would be awesome. More designers that focus on male pages (not even manly just less fru fru).
I would love to see more kits that help you make your own embellishments for the papers you have. Maybe 2 or 3 punches with some other tools that help you create a dozen different looks with the scraps you have. I am foreseeing the rise of sarcasm in scrapping. More titles and stamps will be sarcastic. I consider it an art even though I have been told it is the lowest form of humor (and yet the best). Perhaps page kits that focus on divorce, moving, or any stressful situation. I've always joked about having an "under the table line" where you can buy page kits that are tacky or inappropriate. I have a double page layout of my son's car accident that is really awful (in pictures), but I love the layout anyway.

To answer my own question, I'm hoping for panda bears. How about texture being the thing? Instead of glitter or foil. Oh, pandas would be awesome! I could totally go for that. My DD's little stuffed lovey as a baby/toddler was a panda bear and the puppy we just got has a panda look about her. ETA: I would love more bright aqua, teal and purple. Those are colors DD wears a lot so they show up in my photos a lot. I hope the pink doesn't totally go away because it's my favorite color, but it really doesn't need to be in EVERY collection.

I've noticed butterflies have started to make a resurgence in recent collections and I'm expecting we'll see more of those. I like butterflies/dragonflies/insect motifs, so I'm hoping these stick around for awhile. Scrapbook trends seem to go in cycles, and I remember butterflies were popular 10-12 or so years ago, so maybe they're coming back around. Save I predict watercolor, brushstrokes, pink, blue and gold foil will not die. I tend to agree...I think 2017 will be a lot of the same vibe we've been seeing for the last several years. It's that Instagram/Pinterest aesthetic that drives me bonkers! Pretty but the market is a bit oversaturated at this point. I can't quite find a good way to describe what I would like to see as a "trend" for 2017...it's more of a change in outlook than anything. It would be refreshing to see scrapbooking go back to a fun pastime (which it absolutely still is for many) rather than being presented as a picture-perfect, designer product that always looks like it came from a graphic designer. Does that even make sense? Like I would prefer to see more of Jane Doe's non-professional scrapbooks about her grandkids and vacations than Maggie Holmes's expertly-coordinated, shiny pretty stuff that looks like a professional photographer follows her around all day, lol.

Purple. I'm not sure what the anti-purple scrapbooking thing is about but I'm going to have a kid at a school with purple as one of their colors in a few years so bring on the purple! Haha, love this. Two of my kids attended schools with purple colors. One was a student athlete all four years in college so I have a ton of photos with purple! I would buy purple embellishments whenever available. I made her a college scrapbook of her own, plus all of my own pages, so I used a LOT of purple. Brush lettering seems to be everywhere, so maybe there will be more calligraphy. Not sure what else will be trendy, but I too would like to see less of the "childish" stuff.

Seems based on the previews of new products that Pink is not going away anytime soon!
Would agree on the Earthtones, would love a light (not pastel) version of them as well.
Personally I would still like school related, geared toward Middle & High school. Not another school bus, ABC/123 or playground theme. Something with classes, marching band, drama/theatre, driving lessons, community service, pep rally's, friday night football etc. its and endless opportunity.... at least in my mind! ;P

What I want to see is owls stay and more of them (my dd has a thing for owls). I'd love some dragons that aren't preschool but aren't fantasy world burn you up either. I'm always on the look out for small acorns. (DH bought me a set for Christmas because he knows I put them on his pages). 0--think he might be trying to tell me something. I'd love for there to be less white on white scrapbook layouts out in the world too. I love the look, but not for every. single. page. One more thing I can never get enough of if my house full of nerds is science/science fiction stuff... We have nerds and geeks. So I would love some science fiction, gaming, and science stuff.

Please no more cameras, bicycles, deer heads, or "Hello".... I don't need any more. I definitely have enough"hello" to last me the next decade. I don't like shiny/ glossy paper either (unless it is supposed to be like gold or silver). I think it looks cheap also.

I would love to see more charts, graphs, arrows, constellations, planets, stars, newsprint, wood textures, lined-paper look, science-related themes, book themes, learning/school themes that aren't juvenile, engineering, architecture, maps, greens, browns, dark blues, reds.
I would like to see less animals of any kind except maybe little birds (not ostriches, pelicans, seagulls, etc), no cartoony anything (especially not drawings/cartoony depictions of women/girls - they frighten me), less pinks, less aquas, less seafoam greens, less watercolors, less hellos.

They also had embellishments made with lockers and license plates with the schools name or logo on it. Other than that, I haven't seen a bunch of lines. My LSS has some individual papers (or small sets) of Prom, band, graduation etc though. It was good enough to change up the papers. I have eight years of elementary school to catch up on for my boys, so I need the primary stuff. I just bought Genius yesterday because it wasn't the same primary papers.

Not sure what I am predicting, but would love more great B sides that are toned down enough to use as backgrounds (I don't like super busy backgrounds). Also, wish AC would bring back fabric Thickers and faux leather albums, SS would bring back their basic colored alpha stickers, and ALL companies that make letter sticker sheets to make a separate sheet of all of their fonts with the most commonly used consonants and vowels, extra punctuation and numbers.
I can tell you that I am over: watercolor mists random animals pink everything doilies glitter Thickers weird random anything (broad enough? LOL
