jameynz I have two OTT lights on my desk, one at each end, to get decent lighting. I'm good in daylight, but I need that much lighting at night.

Yes, I have one of these on each of my work counters: makes a HUGE difference! Colours are true and no shadows. And dh has one on the table in the basement he uses for putting jigsaw puzzles together. Works great for matching colours.

Oh yes! The OTT lights are great. I have one on my scrap desk and I just bought a new one from Costco that I put on the end table in the living room. DD and I both like to colour in there while we watch TV and it works great for that. Plus it folds down when not in use and hides behind a picture that's there.

See if this works. This gives me such anxiety and Quickutz told me to probably change the blade. They thought it was dull when I talked to them. See how there are 2 pieces there? Yeah I don't know how to put the grey thing on the black thing. And what does the red dot on #4 mean? I am going to finish this post and close it. I don't know how to deal with this. I hate that thing so much. Put the black blade into the grey thing so that the 4 matches up with the grey arrow on the grey tube. That allows you to move the blade. Just turn it left or right to the number you want. Vinyl and really light paper is usually a two. Depending on the material you make the blade go up or down. Just twist. Super easy. And yes, you can cut through the mat and life goes on. If you really cut through it, get a new mat. The red dot on the four is telling you what the blade is set on. Watch YouTube videos. They are very specific and coach you through it all. Your blades isn't dull of you haven't used it. I have made thousands of cuts on one blade.

I'm in a slump! I didn't have much time to scrapbook in December. Now, I feel like I have no inspiration.
Last night I was going to scrapbook, but I ended up purging my box of summer embellishments. Actually, that felt good. I took all the old sticker sheets out. I cut out a few things I know I will use and them TRASHED the rest of the sheets. Now when I go to scrapbook summer photos, I won't have to flip through those sheets. I hate having a full box and nothing to use. It's kind of like a full closet with nothing to wear!

This weekend went on a shopping spree..We went to EC Crafts and its basically a store with wall to wall dies. We don't go there often its a good hour and half away in a direction that we don't normally go. I order online from them. So I got a few dies. A lot of dies. And actually a lot of Be Creative Tape. super reasonable there. So stocked up!!! Its overwhelming in there. But we had fun. Spent 1.5 hrs in there. Next stop was at the 1000's Islands to check out a possible retreat location for May. Yeah it was a NO!!!. BIG NO. Where it was located was great. Was an hour closer for 3 of us to travel too. But the place itself was a NO. the Rooms were clean. The guy behind the desk I expect to see on the news soon. But we did get to visit and have lunch with a friend from Ottawa who hosts the retreats. So it was a fun day. Michael's in Canada has a 55% off coupon for Sat and Sun. Its unheard of. So I bought a new trimmer and a small guillotine trimmer as well. Plus a ton of blades.
I have to mail out a couple cards tonite. Hoping to be getting together with my scrappy friend this coming Sunday to scrapbook. We were suppose to do it this weekend but did road trip instead. Was worth it.
Started watching the CHA videos online. very excited. So far I really like the Tim Holtz's Stamp Press my local LSS is doing a pre buy starting Wednesday so will be interesting to see how much it will cost in CDN $'s. I am interested in the new dylusions art journals. I like them turned the other way. Not necessarily happy about them being less pages for same money. But I do like her journals. I like Tim Holtz's house dies and city-scapes I will I'm sure be adding them to my collection.
I have a Simon order out for delivery today and also my massive roll of 3m foam tape that amazon had a great deal on..$33CDN..super happy about that..
OH I signed up for Sandy Allnocks Copic Jump Start Class, had to add a couple markers to my collection. So I did that on the weekend at my local art store. Actually I was surprised at the price of them at Mike's they were reasonable without a coupon. I was shocked. I got what I could there, but rest I had to source else where. I filled in my hex chart so far.
I have updated all my inventory lists so far. Have a little list in my purse of inks i'm looking for. really need to get working on cleaning up my space I have failed so far. Hasn't stopped me from actually creating but I need to get it done.

This weekend went on a shopping spree I just lived vicariously through your post. #Spending Freeze My random is that I just got a new pic for my DD (glad I didn't finish it yet). My coworker emailed me a pic of all of us wearing our ugly Christmas sweaters at work on Christmas Eve.

My scrappy randomness today is I'm thinking about getting a sewing machine. Mostly for scrapping. I used to have a sweet little Kenmore Mini Ultra. It was perfect for me and my needs. Also, I really need to set this laptop aside and start editing pictures.

My coworker emailed me a pic of all of us wearing our ugly Christmas sweaters at work on Christmas Eve. I was frozen and well some extra money just happened so had a little fun. I'm back being frozen again. Or until I make my CHA list. But really most of that isn't coming in for another 2 months. SOOOO.. its not like I'm buying anything,

Is it strange that I feel badly about this?
I bought something on eBay. I was the only bidder (I think they categorized it wrong and that could have been why there wasn't anyone else bidding). It was $3 plus $5 shipping. It said standard shipping and I received no tracking, so I figured it went ground for uber cheap and I'd get it in like 10 days. Well, it arrived today unexpectedly. It was shipped priority and prominently has the shipping cost of $12.75 on the label. I feel terrible that it cost more than 50% more than I paid (not even taking into consideration the paypal fees they paid). Are they obligated to send the item without trying to recoup the cost and aren't allowed to consider cancelling it because of the shipping cost being so ridiculous? I'm incredibly happy that they are a decent person and honored the sale even though it cost them money out of their own pocket, but I still feel terrible about the cost difference!
For what it's worth, it's an old school Rotex embossing label maker. I read that the Dymo ones available now are terrible and went searching on eBay for other brands and the Avery Rotex was the most common listing. Most listings were something like $5 plus $15 shipping or $19.99 free shipping, but this one was too good of a deal to not at least try bidding (I didn't expect to be the only bidder) and it came with some leftover black tape already installed and 9 rolls of unused red tape. The second best price I found was $12.95 free shipping.
All that being said, does anyone know how to get the rolls out?! I don't know if this thing (being a product of the 1980's, I believe) would even be featured on eBay. I just thought making my own word stickers would be fun.

I completed my Paper Wishes order today. One of the new items had popped up in the store but the other two are delayed again for another 2 weeks. A lot of what I ordered was Christmas/winter specialty papers and dies, and I want them to either use soon or pack away until card making time in October, so I decided not to wait.
I received my January/February kits from Scrapbooking Fanatics this week. Today I took out the invoice so I could mail her the cheque, and I saw a balance of $0 dollars owing. You know, like the Master Card ad... I emailed Sandy to let her know she had made an error and she told me that my dd had purchased my WHOLE YEAR'S KIT FOR 2017 as my Christmas/birthday gift!!! Dd had said she had purchased me a subscription, but I thought it was to a magazine. But it was for 12 monthly kits!!! Merry Christmas to ME!!!

My little bit of scrappy randomness is that by the time I have time to scrapbook, I am too tired to do it.
I often get home after ten at night from work, and though as I drive home I tell myself that I am going to sit down and scrap, by the time I get out of my work clothes, I am barely able to stay awake.
And if by some miracle I am awake, my dd12 is usually waiting up for me, asking if I'll play a board game with her. How can I say no? I can't.
And my days off are filled with kid appointments, errands, etc.
I miss sitting down and really scrapbooking for more than ten minutes at a time.

Today was a banner day for scrappy acquisitions!
This morning, dh came home from town with a box for me from Paper Wishes. I got some Christmas papers and dies, etc on sale in January, planning to have them for next year's cards, but since I have yet to finish scrapping Christmas 2016, I may use some of them in the next few days!
Waiting for my physio appointment, I wandered through a drug store, and rediscovered their scrapbook section. To my surprise they had a bunch of Carta Bella and KaiserCraft collections! So I ended up buying some that I had missed out on in the LSS.
Later at the LSS I picked up the cs and glue glider refills I had on order. At WM, I got a bunch of photos printed.
So I am all ready to get back into scrapping over this weekend. Whooo Hooo!!!
