Well, it looks like my original Misti may be on its last legs. Every time I take it out there are more cracks and one of these days I feel like it is going to snap into two pieces when I press on the lid! I'm pretty sure I will replace it with the Hampton Art Stamp Perfect but before I do so I'm wondering if anyone who has the Stamp Perfect is having any cracking issues. I've also been looking at WRMK's stamp positioner but I think I prefer the Hampton Art one. Anyone feel differently? And finally, has anyone seen either of these in stores yet? Will Michael's, Joann's or Hobby Lobby being carrying them? I'm in Canada and of course nothing comes here fast - but I will be in Orlando at the end of January and if anyone has seen them in a store I thought I could possibly pick one up when I'm in the US. (And this will be the only scrappy item I buy when I'm on my January freeze ... I think... )

I bought the WRMK one and sent it back. Bought the HA one and love it. I wanted the security of the magnets and to not have to tape it down every time.

Our LSS got the WRMK ones in before Christmas. Haven't seen the HA one anywhere.

I bought the Stamp Perfect earlier this month when ACOT had them on sale. Like you, I'm worried my MISTI may go soon and I use it all the time.
The Stamp Perfect is smaller than the MISTI. And lighter, too. Can't tell if that's all because of the size. The stamping surface on the MISTI is 6-1/2 x 8-1/2. On the SP it's 5-5/8 x 7-3/8. The hinges on the MISTI are bigger and seem sturdier. My SP has a tiny bit of wiggle in it - I can move the cover back and forth, maybe 1/16", maybe less. The SP came with 2 magnets.
The SP has weird measurements on the sides. The markings on the 5-5/8 side is just like the MISTI. However, the 7-3/8" side goes from 4" to 0 and then to 3-3/8". So it has a "center point" but it's not in the middle.
I haven't tried it out yet but, to be honest with you, the slight wiggle in the cover piece bothers me a bit. I think I'll try contacting HA to see if this is normal or perhaps mine wasn't made quite right.

I know you only mentioned the WRMK and HA products, but I have the Stampaholic and would recommend it.

Why do you think after a certain period of time it starts to show wear and tear and then break? I purchased a Mini MISTI earlier this year and really like the tool but don't want to have to replace it soon since it was pretty expensive. Is there a warranty on the product?

The Hampton Arts one is coming to Michaels. Someone in the midwest found it on an endcap display at her store. 50% off coupon made it 12.50 before tax!

I saw it on the Michael's website this morning... Hopefully it'll make it to Canada soon! I looked at the Stampaholic too - except for the colour it's exactly like the Misti. Would love it BUT it's expensive... If you go over to the stamping board you will see the comments made about the poor customer service offered by the creator of the Misti. The cracking is a known issue - at least with the early versions of the Misti. Mine is one of the first ones and therefore I've had it too long to even think about asking for a replacement - she struggled replacing ones that were only a few weeks/months old. Why they crack? Who knows. I've done everything right with mine - used only the recommended cleaner, store it in a drawer where nothing sits on top of it, treat it with kid gloves but it continues to show more hairline cracks every single day. I love the tool - it works like a charm - but with other companies making them now, I'd never buy another Misti.

I guess it's got a *little* wiggle room now that I actually looked at it, but I hadn't noticed it before specifically checking for it just now. Having the magnets to secure the paper were one thing, but having the paper contained inside the product was another. Knowing me and how messy my desk is, I would hit the paper on the WRMK and move it right when I went to stamp. It just felt a bit flimsy, too. I also ordered the WRMK from HSN when they had a bundle with stamps and stamp pads, and I was very unimpressed with those. It just made sense to send it all back.

My store was setting up the power panel but was kind enough to get the box from the back and let me grab one.

I got the WRMK one for Christmas but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I wanted that one because of the option to do 12x12. I won't mind (I hope!) if I have to use some low tack tape or something in place of the magnets.

Thank you for posting the review. I bought the HA Stamp Perfect and am happy with it, but it's good to see the comparison. I am pleased that I didn't spend the extra!

I have a really old misti and I think the only reason it isn't cracking is that I use a piece of 3mm craft foam under the lid when I ink my stamps. I saw someone do it on their blog (and I can't remember who or find it to save my life!) and it gives the lid stability, no flexing! I'm sure it would work for the HA one as well.

I found this at my local Michaels in Canada! They had four in stock! $37.99 with a 50% off coupon! I haven't used it yet so I can't give a review, but other than it being slightly smaller than my original Misti, I don't think I will be at all disappointed with it!
