I've been scrapbooking since around 2003. I do most online (shutterfly) now because I don't have the time I used to. I was recently looking through some of my older handmade books and noticed that a lot of the stuff isn't sticking (I store the books upright and a lot of what I adhere to the pages is now laying down at the bottom of the page protectors). I am so disappointed. I apparently used crappy adhesive (Darice tape runner). I will be going through and re-adhering everything but am wondering if you can recommend something good and permanent that is scrapbook safe. Tape runners or glue, whatever. Thanks!

I recently switched to an ATG gun, and I love it.
Very sticky and very permanent. I used to use one 30 years ago at a frame shop I worked in, and I still have stuff that I stuck together with it back then. Still holding strong! And you can buy tape refills that are safe for scrapbooking.

One of my earliest frustrations with scrapbooking was with the glue. It either ruined the photo, or warped the page, or did not keep anything stuck to the paper. Thankfully they have improved a lot since then.
For heavier things, like embellishments, I use a drop of Ranger Crystal Accents, or CTMH Liquid Glass. I often put a small drop on the back of Thickers or other cb stickers just to make sure they stay where I want them.
For everything else, I use the Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro with Permatac refills. Expensive, but easy to use. Everything seems to stay put.

That's so frustrating! When I started scrapping in 2003 I used Hermafix removable and I haven't had anything come loose. Around 2010 (I think) I started using an atg and haven't had any problems with that either.

Agreed. I've used this for years and love it - no problems!

I used scrapbooking glue sticks in the very beginning and yeah - some of my stuff came off and some of the cardstock was discoloured.
I switched to photo squares fairly early and still use them 99% of them. I haven't had any problems with stuff coming undone. I've been scrapbooking since April 2002 and I think I switched to photo squares within the first several months so 14 years?

I started in 97 again & I started using Creative memories brand tape runner. our i ncome kept dropping & I found the same company as CM. I can use a cupon too. It is scrapbook brand adhesives...they have little strips...squarea..vellum...kind that you can remove...photo tape..photo corners. I use the red container with strips for papers & photos..the tape for ribbon removable for some stuff. I have not had anything come off in all these years I do love my pink atg but it sticks so fast that I like using my other stuff

I use quite a few different adhesives depending on the project - Glue Glider pro, Tombo liquid adhesive, glue pen, Helmar's 450 Quick Dry adhesive and others. I know a lot of people swear by the ATG gun but I wanted something a bit smaller to store.

This thread just made me realized this year will be my 20 year scrapbooking anniversary!! Anyways, I too have found stuff at the bottom of my page protectors thru the years, and have come to realize it's when I used certain tape runners. After all these years there is one glue that I know with certainty that things will not fall off. It's the Tombow mono liquid glue in the white bottle with a green cap. I also use the huge atg gun as well, but for things other then paper, I always use my Tombow glue.
