Yesterday I was making a card and I needed a white ink pad and didn't know if I had one anymore (since I'm just starting to scrap again after a 5 year hiatus).
I rummaged though all my pads and came across a Stampin'Up Whisper White pigment pad. It had already been opened and I remember buying it when white ink was first all the rage. I'm thinking that was somewhere between 2006-2008?
It stamped and worked perfectly yesterday! Wow. It's the only product I've ever bought from Stampin'Up but I was pretty impressed!

That's amazing! I don't have any ink pads that old that have still worked.
I've never bought Stampin Up inks. Are they worth the investment (other than durability)?

When I used it yesterday I did start to remember how much I liked that pad.

That is amazing for a WHITE ink pad! I have some coloured inks of that generation (SU! and other brands) that still work, but white ANYTHING dries up fast.

Wow! I bought some mini SU! ink pads at a yard sale and the plastic wrap was still around them. Most were dry and a couple sort of worked. I have no idea on the age though.

I made 15yo DD's birth announcements with SU inks and they work!
I must say, I have not used/opened them in that many years either, until just recently.

I never bought SU until a few months ago. Wow. Really great inks. I mean super smooth and deep colors. Will definitely buy again.

The old pigment inks were amazing but the new formulated ones aren't so good. They dry up quickly and their reds get the gold sheen of death. I think they call it a mold that changes the color. If you can hang on to or find the old ones they are great though!

Awesome, I love when that happens. I don't have any SU inks but I do have a few of the small Tsukineko versacolor pads that have to be over ten years old and they are still good and juicy.

I have dye inkpads from 15-20 years ago that still work great. Some have never been reinked. All of my most current inkpads are from about 2008-2009 and they are all perfect. More impressive than that, my SU markers are at least 15 years old and I use them a lot. I haven't had to replace or throw any of them out yet.

If you can hang on to or find the old ones they are great though! Red ink- or the new pads are red material? This. Is disappointing, I was waiting until February to buy some new SU inks. I haven't bought any in five years... most of my old ones are good but I had a black crumble into meal.

They changed the pads about 3 or 4 years ago and said that it should have taken care of the problem. I still have a problem, along with a lot of others, with the new pads so I think it's the ink formulation.

I have 3 pads like those. They just won't die! I bought them at Joanns when I did not know there was such a thing as different types of ink. A red and blue dye, and a pigment white ink. The white is as juicy as the day I bought it. They all are. Pretty sure mine are at least 10 years old.
