I have been watching you tube crafting videos....it has been so hot here and I thought it might kickstart my mojo. Has anyone else noticed that all scrapbook / papercraft products are either cute or super cute? Or even super super cute? Enough .Please. Maybe they are shiny or beautiful or colorful or nice even. But not cute...please.... I swear I watched a 5 something minute video yesterday and the poster said cute, super cute or super super cute 28 times....... Aaaaaaarrrrrrggghhhhhh! There are so many words in the English language.........

Your description totally reminds me of 100 words you could say instead of swag, by George Watsky. The over usage of certain words makes some YouTube videos unwatchable.

Different subject, but I was reading a product review this morning that was described as Adorable. It was a clear, lucite or plastic, serving tray- about as boring and serviceable as you can get!
Back on topic- I could use fewer Cute scrapbook products, with less pink!

I have noticed that too. And as much as they love that "super cute" item, I hate it. Oh, I could use a different word. Despise, detest, dislike, "super not cute", etc.

I totally agree and a lot of times I think they use the words to be overly dramatic. I am also super SICK of hearing the word AMAZING. UGH.

All pink/purple/teal and princess all.the.time. Without pink, glitter, sequins and other shiny stuff, I'd be totally sunk.

I can make boy cards all day long and twice on Sunday, but will sit there for hours with no ideas on girl cards. I do VERY little coloring, so unicorns are not my thing as I can't color white. lol

And let's not forget "stinking" cute along with "yummy" to describe stamps.

No coloring or unicorns required!

This is a good reminder for me when I do my videos. Sometimes I catch myself rambling and not even remembering what I want to say!

As much as I love Youtube videos, please add:
"I love it!" On each item. So, you end up with an entire narrative of I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it.... Here's the thing, you ordered it, we already assume you love it. Add some other describing factor or the reason you purchased it.
"It works for me." I wish Youtubers would just stop saying that.

I also have a hard time with things being described as 'darling'. I think of it as a term of endearment and not an adjective.

I almost always watch you tube videos without the sound..... Me too. I really love the YouTubers who do minimal narration then speed up their process with an instrumental accompaniment. No offence, but I don't need to hear every single thing you're thinking. If I see you take off one embellishment and stick down a different one, I'm smart enough to know that the second one matches better somehow. You don't have to tell me it's because "it had more blue than the other one." We can see that and some of us are willing to try and figure out the "why" on our own. But, in fairness to those who spend time making and editing those videos, it's good to have a wide variety of video styles available. The videos that appeal to me don't represent the PL video watching majority. There are lots of other viewers who appreciate the 10-20 minute "think aloud" and want to hear every single thing that rolled through your head while making a spread/layout. I'm just one of the make it less than 8 min. video watchers. Back OT - the "cute" thing irks me too. Of course they think it's cute, who's gonna slap something on a layout because they think it's ugly, or dated, or blah? We all use things we find to be appealing. It's the almost "baby-talk" from grown women that I don't get. It's paper, stamps, or acetate. Can we avoid sounding like little girls or talking about art supplies like their edible? I think the way we talk about our hobby and supplies makes it sound trivial sometimes. You'd never hear a painter or photographer say they're going to play with some yummy goodies when talking about lens, brushes, or paint. SaveSave

I will enjoy using it while I can because I'm pretty sure her taste will change when she gets older. ** But I will make this Disclaimer - I have never used the term "super cute" and definitely not "super super cute".

I took a scrapbook class with a presenter who really overused the word. She even knows she does this. So every time she said cute or super cute, we all took a swig of our drink. It got to be pretty funny watching 25 women try to keep up building a page and drink during a 2 hour class.

Please for the love of poodles do not say "goodies". They are eyelets, paper, brads, ink, supplies, embellishments, essentials, extras, NOT GOODIES.
Thank you and have a blessed evening.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can't stand 'stinking cute'. It's nice but it smells really bad? Ewww.
I don't watch a lot of YouTube videos but when I do you bet I'll notice the super cute, awesome dialogue about those yummy products.

I don't even notice "cute." What I notice and hate with a passion is "sweet." WHY IS EVERYTHING SWEET? Ugh, it makes me gag.
One of the only YouTube channels I'll make an effort to watch is Jen Chapin's. She doesn't make everything sound saccharine, which I appreciate.

I love Kawaii. I love cute. Oooh, it does grate on my nerves to hear stinking cute. How can it be cute if it is stinking? I don't want to hear amazing either. Amazing to me is not a planner. Amazing would be Michael Fassbender standing in front of me naked. That would also be a miracle, lol. Stamps are not yummy. I am not going to eat them. Cupcake is yummy. Don't say it is "Oh so Kawaii!" When it is not. Kawaii is a definite style. A pink horse planner sticker is not Kawaii. I can say that is the one that really irks me. I don't watch videos where women are trying to hard. This is not keeping up with Crafting Cardashians. I bet those ladies are lovable just as they are. They don't need to impress. Give me real. If you cuss I love you. If you are a cutie IRL I love you too. I know if I made videos I would be banned from YouTube. I would say it is cute. I am one of those girls who really do love cute things and it is who I am. I would say it in a normal voice. Then I would turn around mess up my project and say "Well, I f***ed this up!
