A random thought about tiny hands tweets this am about Ford and Chrysler/Fiat's plans to invest in plants in the US.
There are doing it because the next big thing in autos are the "smart" cars. Which ,as one auto executive said, in order to build these smart cars you need a more educated technical worker then you can get in places like Mexico. At least at the beginning. Just think of these plants as prototypes.
In other words this was going to happen regardless of who was president.
Another example of how technology affects jobs in this country. In this case, for now anyway, it's a good thing.
Of course tiny hands is going to take credit for it. And some of his supporters will buy it.

I'm waiting for companies to start preemptively stealing his thunder. "Fiat is announcing that we are building a new plant, which will result in 2000 new jobs. Mr. Trump had nothing to do with this decision, nor was he involved in any way in the planning of this endeavor." Volkswagon has already said it before him so he can't take credit for that one. These business decisions are made years in advance by all manufacturers and has nothing to do with Trump. The decisions would have happened anyhow and would have been more that likely announced at the Motor show, same way as they have always been announced in the past. LINK

But to his supporters these decisions being released by the auto makers are because of trump regardless of what the auto makers say and how many times they say it. And that's the problem.

That's why I think it would be good to preemptively say "Yeah, I know that he's going to take credit for it, but before he even gets a chance to do so - we made this decision 4/8 years ago without any input or influence from any administration."

So, this is a comment made on a friends Facebook post regarding Trump's response to Meryl Streep. What do we do with this type of thinking? There is absolutely no reasoning with someone like this, and no logical arguments will get them to look at things a different way. It is so frustrating!
--"It is great for those people who have lots of money to make judgments. There is a reason the "common, deplorable, racist" people of America voted for him. A lot of us want jobs, patriotism, pride, independence and our country back. This country is a republic. We are not Islamic. We do not endorse forced religion and religious beliefs., barbarism and sustained killing attacks on white men, women and children. The actors have also lied. They said we will leave and denounce America if Trump is elected. Well, Trump is elected!! You people can leave now! You said you would. However they lied. None of them have left! Nice to know they are liars as well.. No new jobs were created in 8 years of Obama rule. In fact, 304,000 jobs were actually lost during the Obama administration. FEMALE camps and ISIS camps are what Democrats would have used to forward their Islamic Rule agenda!! Trump is an American! He believes in the flag, our national anthem, our veterans and looks with pride on our flag. Unlike the current sitting president who only looks with hatred and derision at our country!! She should have just accepted the award, said thank you and sat down..too many "windy speeches"., abound!!

Huh, it's almost like maybe POETUS shouldn't respond to the speech from an actor, if an actor's speech isn't important.
The numbers don't bear out his point. Lower-income people didn't go for Trump. But I am not sure that it is worth having an online debate with someone who thinks that Democrats want to create concentration camps for women under their Islamic rule.

Judge Trump by what's in his heart, not what comes out of his mouth. How is this even sensible or remotely comforting for a description of the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES? So, in other words, while he is spewing hate, bigotry, fake media, don't believe any of it blah blah blah..the people are supposed to know what the flying FRICK he is feeling in his heart??? What the ever loving fuck does that even mean? !!!! It's hard to judge his words from a piece of anatomy that he doesn't have.

yeah- there's really nothing you can counter that amount of non-critical thinking with. And it really reads like it was cut-and-pasted onto that person's facebook wall, anyway. Which is a REAL problem with the future of our society, in my opinion. People just don't THINK for THEMSELVES anymore.
We really ARE in the age of post-truth / truthiness. The ACTUAL TRUTH does NOT matter to these people.

I keep wondering who they are all going to blame when they are in ruins. (His supporters) When Russia takes him and eats him up and spits him out. When he is impeached because he implodes or hauls off on another world leader at a meeting/summit. When his cabinet takes the US back 100 years...who are they all going to blame then?
IF and it's a pretty big if, he ends up surprising us all and does a half decent job, then I will eat my words. However, with his past, his unstable behaviours and his NPD..I just can't see that happening.

I saw a post on FB today where someone expressed support for the ACA, but hoped congress would "dismantle Obamacare" asap.
Don't know what to say about THAT.

or when conservatives say they want less spending. EXCEPT for, oh, let's see-- the wall, increasing defense spending, infrastructure, etc. etc. How do they think these things will get paid for with LESS spending? (better just not to ask, I guess... unless they think the Donald will pay for all those things with his own money, too? ? ? hahaha!!!)

She should have just accepted the award, said thank you and sat down..too many "windy speeches"., abound!! I see and read a lot of the same rhetoric from my Trump supporting friends and family. "We do not endorse forced religion and religious (?)"....unless it's Christianity, in which case, we will take away your right to choose and possibly be married if you are a gay person. Because most of these people wrongly believe that America is a Christian nation. These same people who want to make law based on the Bible don't realize that they sound just like the extremist Muslims they're so afraid of. Replace the words "Islam" with "Christianity," "God/Jesus" with "Allah/Mohammed", and "Bible" with "Quran", and their rhetoric sounds an awful lot like the rhetoric they so fear.... The same people who have spent the last 8 years criticizing President Obama non-stop now somehow think you should leave America if you dare speak against Trump. Talk about unAmerican behavior and attitudes! I made the mistake of engaging with someone on FB, and her response to me was "Trump is President! Go back to Mexico if you don't like it!" She was enraged when I replied that I am proudly American (Native American on my mom's side, here long before the Pilgrims landed) and plan to spend the next 4 years exercising my first Amendment rights as loudly and peacefully as possible. She actually replied with, "you think it will be legal for people like you to run your mouth in a few years?" And then refused to engage when I asked her if she was actually calling for my free speech to be limited. (A very hypocritical viewpoint for a woman who drones on and on about the importance of the Second Amendment.) Intelligence has now been painted as elitism. Criticism of the government has become unpatriotic. The right condemns the left for trying to limit free speech (I hear a lot of crying about "whiny PC liberals"), but don't they do the same thing? Imply that Barack Obama is Muslim and it's okay, but criticize Trump legitimately, and you should get the fuck out because you don't love America as much as they do. It's really scary to see the way this presidency is affecting people I know. I legitimately fear for my country. On the plus side, it seems that my long-dormant activist is awake. I think we need to spend the next 4 years putting action behind our words. I choose to focus my energy toward working for Planned Parenthood and advocating for campaign finance reform.

So because Meryl Streep called tiny hands out because of his well documented behavior there is a possibility that it will "incite people's worst instincts" ?
This is from a Fox News interview.
"@kellyannepolls: I'm concerned that somebody with a platform like Meryl Streep's is inciting people's worst instincts"
I think Kellyanne is confused. It's listening to tiny hands that brings out people's worst instincts. Unfortunately we have seen that demonstrate over and over again.

And there's more from that poster...
" have you ever watch Obama and his "wife" at public events..I have NEVER actually seen them look with pride and happiness at our flag!!! I also take it that you are antisemitic as well as a BLM supporter."
"Consider the the US Ambassador to the United Nations agreed with all other countries that Jews did not deserve to be acknowledged. And Obama did nothing to help the Jewish people. Nice president."
"And he supported BLM which has said over and over we are going to kill every white man woman and child and Obama honors that!!! I suppose he should be happy that his hometown that has the strictest gun control laws also has the highest murder rate in the US. And they do not have enough cops to help because no one wants to get shot!"

And his response to that will be, "well they knew who I was before I ran and elected me anyway".

I don't think Trump cares what kind of shape he leaves this country in, as long as he personally benefits (or can rewrite the narrative in that direction). I'm still baffled by the voters that thought he was a relatable, working-class Christian. Trump only cares about Trump and he has proven it time and again.

apparently ethics is now a dirty word, huh?? I heard Senator Tim Kain interviewed on NPR this morning, and he was saying the same thing... it's amazing to me that they have to defend their position of wanting the process followed.
The nominees didn't get their paperwork turned in on time, but heaven forbid they get asked to follow the same rules everyone else had to follow up to this point!! (oh, yeah- it's cause they're whiny babies that they're asking for the rules to be followed- I forgot)

Trump has been calling straightforward reporting of his antics "fake news," because now it's just "both sides do it" not an issue. Non-Trump supporters have been saying for a while that Trump was appealing to people's worst instincts, so Conway is coopting at language as well.

Passing this on: The federal week in review: 1. Trump fires all Ambassadors and Special Envoys, ordering them out by inauguration day.
2. House brings back the Holman rule allowing them to reduce an individual civil service, SES positions, or political appointee's salary to $1, effectively firing them by amendment to any piece of legislation. We now know why they wanted names and positions of people in Energy and State.
3. Senate schedules 6 simultaneous hearings on cabinet nominees and triple-books those hearings with Trump's first press conference in months and an ACA budget vote, effectively preventing any concentrated coverage or protest.
4. House GOP expressly forbids the Congressional Budget Office from reporting or tracking ANY costs related to the repeal of the ACA.
5. Trump continues to throw the intelligence community under the bus to protect Putin, despite the growing mountain of evidence that the Russians deliberately interfered in our election.
6. Trump breaks a central campaign promise to make Mexico pay for the wall by asking Congress (in other words, us, the taxpayers) to pay for it.
7. Trump threatens Toyota over a new plant that was never coming to the US nor will take jobs out of the US.
8. House passes the REINS act, giving them veto power over any rules enacted by any federal agency or department--for example, FDA or EPA bans a drug or pesticide, Congress can overrule based on lobbyists not science. Don't like that endangered species designation, Congress kills it. We - progressive, liberal, libertarian and conservative - need to all wake up to what is actually happening to our beloved country.

Add to it that he just told all of the people in charge of maintaining our nuclear arsenal that they need to be out by January 20.
If anyone is still on the fence, these are not the actions of a leader who has America's safety or best interests at heart. These are the actions of a person who wants complete control over everything and wants to obliterate any traces of the person who was president before him.
