I've made the decision to part with a lot of my scrapbooking supplies. I really haven't scrapbooked in many years and really just want it gone. I live in a small, rural area with the nearest Goodwill 100 miles away. What would you do with it all? Keep in mind this is years worth of shopping and little use.

Schools would probably enjoy it!

One of the nursing homes here scrapbooks with the residents. Is there a Ronald Mcdonald house in the nearby city? They would gladly accept it. Maybe you could mail it to them. Call your local school. Maybe a Teacher would be interested in doing an after school club with the students. Perhaps offer to run a club for a few weeks. A Teacher at our Daughter's school ran a Calligraphy club when she was in Elementary school and she enjoyed it.

I am purging a lot of my stuff as well. I e-mailed an art teacher at a local inner city school offering it to her. She seemed indifferent but willing to accept everything. I have a ton of paper, stamps, ink, etc for her.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm hoping that I can donate it, although my husband would be happy to just chunk it all. Please nobody "hate" on me for that comment, I would never do that to pretty paper! Not to mention all the money that I've spent on it. 😀

Please consider donating within your community. (Note some restrictions, such as tools with blades, may apply.) Suggestions:
Daycare Church preschool ministry Elementary school Middle or high school fine arts department After school art program Children's hospital Ronald McDonald House Orphanage Juvenile detention center Big Brothers/Sisters Boy/Girl Scouts troop Battered women's shelter Women's prison Assisted living facility ...& many more.
Also, Amazon is collaborating with Goodwill to gather donations. You may want to call or search online for directions to mail your unwanted scrap supplies to Goodwill at no cost to you. HTH

Do you have any Girl Scout troops in your area (or Camp Fire or other youth organizations). Many of those would love to have it. Also day cares or after school programs. Don't throw it away!!

Lots of good suggestions here. I would also add anywhere that provides day service activities for adults with disabilities. they are often on a fairly tight budget and in need of supplies.

lots of good donation options already posted - I would add senior centre or foster care agency
you might be able to get rid of some by posting on the For Sale/Trade board - you could RAK for the cost of postage or sell.

Lots of good suggestions above. I have donated to the Brain Injury Centre, to adult education centres, Native drop in centres and schools.
Do you have a community fb or kigigi board? Lots of this kind of stuff gets moved around using one of those platforms.

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I'll be checking my area for many of those organizations.

Please add libraries to your list! I work at my local library and the tweens know how to use my Cricut Machine and Big Shot.

You could offer it here for cost of postage
or donate it all to Goodwill or similar thrift store. Many people get their stuff from there when they stumble on it.
Lastly, put it on freecycle or trash/treasure

Lots of great suggestions here already. I've donated literally boxes and boxes of scrap paper, patterned paper, stickers I was done with, etc. to local schools over the years and you would think from their reaction that they just won the lottery! The teachers have always been very appreciative for the donations. Now that my kid is in elementary school, it's kind of fun to recognize some of the stuff I've donated previously when it comes back home in another form! I recently saw a blurb in the weekly school newsletter that the librarian was looking for scrapbook paper donations so they could make a bookmark for every kid in the school (about 600 kids). I dropped off roughly a 12" tall stack of assorted papers and the librarian was so excited! I told her that whatever they didn't need could go to the art department. I'm just happy it's being put to good use.

I knew this would be the place to go for some good advice. Although I'm not a regular poster, I've followed this message board for a while (off and on). I would love to find someone fairly local who is just starting in this hobby or doesn't have the means to get into the hobby who I could donate all of it to. I still love doing crafty things but have learned over the years what are my real loves within the hobby. I will be keeping a small amount of paper and I love stickers for my planners.
So if any of you ladies know of anyone in the Ozarks that I could help, give me a shout.
